OFFICIAL Broncos Lock In Walsh For Another Four Years

Oatsey lives there, although he is selling up now he's finished playing. He will make a fortune on his place.

Sounds a bit like Madge. Ever since he first started coaching Wigan in the Super League, he has never actually lived in his own home while coaching at that particular club, always rented. Been living at the same rental house in Maroubra since 2014. The bloke is a property tycoon. Owns a number of places in Sydney, the 3 in Brisbane and 1 at Maroochy River in Qld.

He will have have made millions on them all if he ever sells them since the property boom over the past 5 years or so as they've increased in value.

Apparently, the travelling isnt good for them. Even though our best player by an absolute massive margin lives on the Gold Coast.
Yeah but imagine how good he would be if he didn’t spend an hour either side of training sitting in traffic

When i did the drive to and from work in Sydney it was 1.5 hours each way at times. For the first two years I loved it as it was pure alone time in the car with my stereo pumped up just listening to my fav. tracks and totally switching off.

It was the third year when it started to grind so i moved. I expect the young guys are loving that cruise to and from the coast with their fav playlist. I'm sure they'll also move when the trip begins to lose it's appeal. In this day and age of our players' every move being reported I suspect that couple of hours being anonymous in traffic with just their music is a great escape.

I think they will all move very soon. Now that it has been highlighted in the media, rightly or wrongly it adds pressure for them to perform whilst they are living there or else the drums will be beating louder about things like this.

They are running out of excuses not to perform. That's what I like about the maguire appointment. Whether he is the right coach or not, people can't deny he is a high quality coach who demands effort over everything else. If they can't perform they'll need to look inward because they are likely the problem, given they've had a few different approaches now.

I disagree. Walshy and Paddy are two of the bunch that put in every time they go on the field. I think their performances justify them being able to live where they want. If they were both playing like busteds I'd see the point.

Mam probably disagrees lol

I don't disagree that they don't put in. But the media and the general public will likely view things differently if we are losing and the "live too far away" angle will be an easy one for the media to push and for the players to change to show they are 110% trying everything.

True. Coz the media only sells and generate click bait on negativity. That’s why I much prefer to read BHQ than any of the rags seeking our hard earned coin.

I don't know why people compare Walsh and Edwards.

Two different fullbacks at different stages of their careers. One is at the start and still developing and learning the game. The other is at the back end and is the finished product.
Agree. Dylan Edwards was hot garbage the first 3 years of his career. If you told me he’d go on to be 4 x premiership winner, cc medallist and Aussie fullback I’d have laughed you out of the room. The fact that Walsh is already elite is exceptional signs, he just needs to follow Edwards work ethic. And have a decent squad around him.

Reyno has a place in Samford Valley (wherever that is). Madge owns 3 houses in Brisbane - at Everton Park, Bracken Ridge and Durack. I assume these are suburbs up there. Maybe Madge can rent these joints of his out to the Gold Coast based players, give em mates rates. 😗
Samford is about 25/30mins from Red Hill. It’s a lovely “country town” that’s become quite exclusive. A lot of Broncos lived there back in the day.
Everton Park and Bracken Ridge are bogan suburbs that have become valuable because of their proximity to the city. If he’s owned them for 5-10 years he’d have made plenty of profit off them.

Dunno where the heck Durack is? I’m assuming the south side which doesn’t count.

The report in the Courier Mail came from a former staffer, not someone currently working for the club

It was raised by the current staff and review. The Courier just retrospectively applied something a former staff member said to them.

Southside is best side and everyone knows it

Durack borders Inala, Richlands, Oxley, Williawong and Doolandella. Take Oxley/Blunder Rd south off/over the Ipswich Motorway for a couple of minutes and you're in Durack.

He will by imagine giving up that place for what I assume will be a random mansion in the city area. Absolute god tier house he has
