Right centre isn't broken, but the spine is. Lee Hoeter, Farnworth or Cobbo could all go in there and be just as effective.
Staggs is capable of playing 5/8th. And i'd rather they tried it first before going back to Nikorima honestly. Hell if need be, I'd be tempted to play Staggs at 9 as well. He's too good a footballer to just sit out wide for mine.
The reason I suggested switching centres was to try to create a running edge with Oates able to make an occasional break, and Walters, Gamble and Kelly all capable of running in support. And at least with Staggs out there, the ball would go that way.
But as I said before, I'll admit you were right about the left fend being one of his best attributes. And if he's at centre, he should be on the right.
