Only accepting Fifita back if this is how he re-enters Red Hill

Whatever team you support nobody would wish that on anyone.

All players that I would not lose sleep over, should they get a season-ending injury.

With Fifita, we still need to calibrate these contract figures with the new salary cap. 900K equates to 12.7% of your salary cap. Under the old salary cap that would be just over 700K which is a reasonable salary if you want Fifita. It's just a question of whether how much these other clubs are willing to pay him and whether Brisbane should consider bidding.

Last time they got out at 800K which would equate to $1,000,000 under today's salary cap. It'll be interesting to see if they'll adjust or simply put the old deal on the table which would equate to $625K.

I'm not convinced the Raiders and Titans are the only team in the race. What's stopping the Dolphins from offering him $1.1 Million? He would fit the brand they're trying to build and they need players who can affect the scoreboard.

If the Broncos can land Fifita it will help balance out the losses of Flegler and Farnworth. It would mean that recruitment and development is trending in the right direction, but still the big question will around Reynolds' replacement.

Isn’t that the point of having Madden and Rogers, aside from being injury cover?

Let's say we could make it work for a swap for Palasia this year and I don't know how that happens but let's say it works, surely this has to be a contender:

1. Walsh
2. Oates
3. Staggs
4. Farnworth
5. Cobbo
6. Mam
7. Reynolds
8. Haas
9. Walters
10. Carrigan
11. Fifita
12. Riki
13. Capewell

14. Paix
15. Taupau/Jensen
16. Flegler
17. Hetherington/Piakura I guess until Hetherington is fit
I think it’s too late in the pre-season to make a change as critical as Capewell to lock. I would rather just drop Riki to fight it out with the others as a bench forward

Exactly, then there are a few guys around who could do a good job as at worst a stop gap in Trindall, Schneider, Lam and even Clifford.

I'm totally ok with that too.

Madden is auditioning for the role but he's just a stop gap option at this stage. It may even be like a Blake Mozer situation where he's clearly viewed as the long term dummy half but they have Billy Walters & Cory Paix filling in for the time being. Similar to how the Roosters replaced Cronk with Sam Walker but had Kyle Flanagan and Lachlan Lam fill in.

Dumb Dubbo have egg on his face all over & he has his stupid smile to show on camera except for news worthy stuff.
We may or may not sign Fifi but from here on, the club especially Kev, should continue doing what they did today i.e; don’t give shit to these vultures.

Kevin Walters...

"No, I won't make any comment on that Dobbo. It's club policy not to talk about the contract of players."

I love this.

I suspect someone at the club scans the post game threads, just from a few reactions I've seen.

But I doubt we've ever been responsible for even a single player movement rumour. In fact, if anything, I'm somewhat disappointed by how little traction BHQ has in the media. I don't think Badel or Meyn get anything from here.

I do know Badel calls the club 1000 times a day for stories. That's come from Ikin and Donuts, who've laughed about how persistent he is. I think the more fanciful rumours come from the player agents trying to rustle up publicity for their clients. You'd wonder how many times they can get away with bad data, but here we are.
It's fun to think it's someone's job at Broncos actual HQ to scan the dribble on here for an actual piece of solid advice (which there likely is) after each game.

But, damn it, Pete, why won't you give the guys here that one little piece of credit?

At least let us think it was a BHQ exclusive. Did they credit reddit?
