Broncos Roster, Signings and Rumours Discussion 2023

I saw a rumour that the broncos are taking 3 games to the Gabba and now I know we’ve lost our minds

I just posted the news. it's because FIFA have secured exclusive use of Lang Park (as well as grounds in Sydney and Melbourne) for the Women's World Cup. we aren't allowed to play at Lang Park

think he can transform into a prop much like tapine? when he first came in he was very physical, seemed to like the contact. just needs to add some size.
I’m all about this and mentioned it previously. It gets the most out of his high work rate and allows for a more creative option on the second row. I have no doubt he’ll succeed in the middle over time.

he's the same height and weight as tapine and he started in the backrow also.

I'll probably be wrong about him, but i'm still all in on Shaun Packer. Thing he has a lot of potential at hooker.
Had a little to do with Shaun in the u20s/Broncos emerging program (was invited to observe) he's such a good young kid. Probably stuck behind Mozer but he comes in handy as well. Do you think we can keep him or is he too far down the pecking order?

Re Riki, I would like to give him another season.

Reyno was starting to build a combo with him until it all went to shit. I think a full pre-season working with Reyno, we'll start to see him be more of an attacking threat, making more line breaks from well timed short balls and score more tries from grubbers.

Quite a few of those errors at the back end of the season weren't really Riki's fault. Reyno was throwing some bad passes to him.

Riki’s biggest issue is that he does not look like a league player. He doesn’t know how to run good lines and he gets confused in the ruck, at marker and A defender. He has all the physical attributes but none of the muscle memory.

He would do well to return to a simpler role as a bench middle forward while he develops his game.

That’s a valid reason to not like him being in the team because it’s not based on him being the coach’s son. Which the complete opposite of why McHunt doesn’t want him in the team.
It's the same thing I said you belligerently incoherent ****. He's not good enough to be the Broncos hooker, he's too much of a slug to bring any energy off the bench, and he's not NRL standard in the halves. All he does is bust his guts at the limit of his low talent ceiling. No one is saying he's lazy, just not good enough to take us to the finals, let alone a premiership.

His father being coach makes him harder to drop and raises the question why we signed him rather than someone else. If mentioning his father is the coach is too hard for you to process, you're in denial. Leave me out of it. You're the one with his head up his arse.

We have a new hooker, folks. His name is Jake Turpin, and he's very very good.

I'm excited. How about you?

Lol

I like this idea. If does go into the middle and perform, could well turn out into our own version of Tapine in few years time.

I guarantee you if Riki went to the right club in 12 months he would be another example of what we let go.
It's up to our coaching staff to get the most from him .
Running the crash line and serving him up on a platter is just not fair on the kid.
We have to be better at that play or it won't matter who plays on the edge.
That's good! I want him to succeed! Just not the right fit for Broncos unfortunately. I agree our coaching staff should take half the blame but that's a whole other story.

I'd like to see Capewell shift over to the right edge btw. I think he'd form a better combo with Reynolds than Riki has.

Put a big lad (maybe Riki, maybe not Riki) on the left edge to run off Mam.

Goddd it's pretty funny but so depressing that I'm basically saying the same thing 4 years later. We're still having an issue with our 9. What a joke.
