1. Gray
2. Munro
3. Graham
4. Mitchell
5. Cobbo

That would be a phenomenal background because you have players there who cover Cobbo's weaknesses to make him a weapon.
What is Selwyn's weakness? Isn't it looking like he doesn't give a **** half the time?

Hi all, hope everyone is travelling well.

Bit of gossip from the Burrow thought you might be interested in.

The Rabbitohs board this week endorsed an offer being put in for Selwyn Cobbo for next year. Some board members were against it due to concerns about him coming to Sydney, but it was given the go ahead, presumably Wayne had a big say.

Also, Davvy Moale's manager has had preliminary talks with Brisbane. He is off contract end of this year.

Onwards and upwards in 2025 for us all we hope!
I think this is one of those situations where everybody wins.

Selwyn is a very likeable chap and super fun to watch. I want him to be happy and successful - which he would be under Wayne. Also seeing another great indigenous player be part of that bunnies team would be cool to see.

I also think we need to rebalance our squad and losing Cobbo helps us do that.

Issue with losing Cobbo is that he is the only back in our team that takes hitups and makes meters.

If we lose him we lose 150m per game... which we then need to replace.

He's on like $600k... it will take a fair bit of that just to find another winger able to replace the meters he was already giving us.

I don't see it as a win win... I see it as a losing situation for us until we find someone to replace the meters, tries and versatility that Cobbo brings.

We haven't yet found someone to replace the 170m that Herbie was providing... or even the 180m that Oates was providing.

So we'll be down about 500m of yardage per game at this point.

I'd just be concerned at having another lazy, hot and cold outside back in the team. Fatrell only seems to turn it on when he feels like it. We don't need another high paid bloke like Cobbo who seems very similar judging by his form the past year or two.

Whether Wayne could turn him around, is anyone's guess.

Karapani would be 150-200m a game...just not sure how highly rated he is?

I do like him, but he isn't a recognised winger, so unsure on how good he is at finishing, and he struggles under bombs.

Also only signed for this year... I think?? we've never seen anything official about an extension and there's nothing on NRL.com.

This is the reason I don't want to lose Cobbo but am totally ok with losing Staggs. Staggs offers nothing for his reported desired price tag.

Our backline doesn't work and I mean that in every sense of the word. What I'd do though is what the Roosters have done and look at 2026 as a gap year and chase Herbie for 2027.

This is where I will spruik Trew. Much safer than Leota. Still unproven against men, he's having to go back to Souths (I think) BRL with his tail between his legs as there are no spots for him in Q Cup. But now that he has a run of games under his belt, his metre churning abilities have shone, which is what you'd hope from 6'8" and ~110kgs.

And maybe the broncos are looking at the next group of guys coming through and are thinking we don't need to overpay for Cobbo.

We've been hearing that Innes, Verhoven, Trew, etc. have been dominating Meninga... and it is one thing to be going well at that level, but I would also be interested in their abilities compared to the current rugba leeg meta.

Are they taking a heap of hit ups in yardage and making meters, are they defending well (can be difficult to tell because it requires the opposition attack to be effective), are they safe under the high ball, etc.

Are they vocal on the field... this might be one of the most important things to look at with kids coming through... find the guys that are out there barking orders to their team mates. Are they captain of their respective team or rep teams (can be a misdirect if they're picking the best player as captain, because I think Dfifi was captain coming through)

Get our coaches to have a chat with them and see if they can breakdown what's happening on the field and why.

Get some ****ing footy players into the joint.

Shiba averaging close to the same as Selwyn at a fraction of the cost, better value elsewhere i think

He has really improved that part of his game this year, the one good thing to come out of the disappointment of the Bears forwards this year has been Karapani really improving his ground out of their end. He has been exceptional and gets quick play the balls.

If it wasn't for Coster and Karapani the Bears are ending sets 15m out from their line.

Hasn't played BRL yet this season.
