Broncos Roster, Signings and Rumours Discussion 2026

He looks exactly like a Sleazy French guy so this suits him perfectly.

Fans do turn on players pretty quickly, lol

You can count on one hand the number of poor performances Arthars has had since he returned from the Warriors, and the majority of those were when we needed to play him in a position other than wing ... And now people want him gone immediately.

I wonder if the same thing will happen with Arthars that happened with Capewell, where after wanting him gone, those same people will want him back a few years later 🤔

I think Luciano is the level of backrower we could do with, but I think he's just not suited to this current playing group or under Madge.

Has had fitness issues in the past and he doesn't mind calling his own number.

I actually think Kelma Tuilagi is probably a guy we should go after.

It seems like fans don't like him due to defence, but I've never really paid close enough attention to it, in attack he runs a great hard line and he can get through 80mins with decent workrate.

Probably wouldn't cost a ton either.

He's also down as 109kg, so I reckon he's a candidate of being a hybrid backrow/middle... in the same way that Sitili was basically converted into a prop as soon as he signed with the dogs.

I'm not sure if Kelma can become a pure prop like that, but he has the size and physicality to mix it in the middle
Yeah, Kelma at best could fill the middle prop rotation off the bench, the rest would of the time, he would have to be 2R. And is fit and strong already.

Luciano is a big boy. Apparently looking for an immediate release. So maybe we will sign him soon if that goes ahead, granted Broncos are actually interested.

I know people are saying Luciano is lazy as ****, but do your serious think that'll fly with Madge if he doesn't train hard? If we sign him purely depth on a low contract to negate him not training hard. I honestly rate him.

Lol, poor Arthars. Unfortunately, I can't blame him for leaving, he is down the pecking order like Cobbo was, and he wasn't worth his asking price.
I wish we didn't get rid of Capewell, purely because we need 2R.
We'd at least have Riki, Piak and Capewell to fill the 2 spots. Which we desperately needed.

Must be some really bad contracts on our roster if we can't even afford to fill the squad let alone improve it for next year. I guess that 2025 Premieship will have to do for another 20 years.

Reading the article and it seemed like Donaghy was just being sensible about not paying overs to re-sign players for their achievements in 2025.

That's how you get caught.

How many guys are off contract and did anything good in 2025?

What was his asking price? If it was 300k he is worth it ... If it was closer to 600k, then you're right he's not.

I don't blame for leaving either, BTW. He's more likely to secure a starting spot at another club (although with our current backline stocks he could get that here next year at this stage)

Can't speak for everyone but when it came to Capewell, I believe we offered him 2yrs and the Wahs offered 3. I don't think it was a case of not wanting him it was more about not standing in his way of getting a longer deal.

Cap space. Broncos told Capewell this is your last year and if you get a longer offer, we will let you go. He got a three year offer and Broncos let him go from his last year at the Broncos in 24.

His end at the Broncos is a sad one. He was one of our best players in the 2023 GF he was also 18th man for Origin, was it only last year? He is now off to Super League. I'm surprised the Perth Bears didn't make a play for him.

IMO: Perth Bears will last 5 years. And I am being generous

Arthars has been kicking cans ever since he got dropped last year, that's why I'm happy for him to leave. He just went back to reserve grade and sooked. He didn't stand out at all and then after bringing that lazy attitude into the team last week, I'm so off him.

I loved what he did in the 2023 GF but that's 3 years ago. I feel like we let Cobbo go for doing less, so at least Maguire is being consistent.

I’ve always been a big fan of his but unfortunately you could name only a few of the good games he’s had from the last two years. He’s gone to get some easy cash in super league where he will definitely have a spot in the squad as opposed to the NRL where I don’t think he would make the squad at any club. I think he’s past his prime. He’s done good things in the past for this club which I’m grateful for but it’s become painful to watch him play.
