Broncos Roster, Signings and Rumours Discussion 2026

For those in the know where do you group the young players in regards to outlook:

Eg.
1. Look like they will become top notch 1st graders already.
2. Will make it to 1st grade but unsure how theyll go oncw they make the jump
3. Could go either way (eg nrl vs qld cup is their level
4. Talented for their age group but will need things to go their way to make it to nrl
1. Tupou Francis, Nio Verhoeven.
2. Blake Mozer, Cameron Bukowski, Coby Black, Ben Te Kura, Va'a Semu
3. Phillip Coates, Jared Horne, Beni Allen, Saxon Innes, Jett Bryce
4. Braithen Scott, Seth Gundry

You could toss in the rest of the NRLQ squad in 4.

That's where I'd have it at this stage. Granted some of these players suffered setbacks this year while others enjoyed unbelievable success so we need more of a sample size before we put it in stone.

However I think Francis and Verhoeven are in that Haas, Dearden, Coates class where you know right away that they're special players. I will stress that neither are entitled to a top 17 spot at this stage.

I don't want to put out the narrative that Maguire is hindering their development, just that down the line they won't just be NRL players, they'll be quality players.

Verhoeven is T&T. If reports are to be believed our dev list is full (Semu, Bukowski, Francis, Horne, Scott, & Coates). Leaves one top 30 spot open.
Verhoeven would be on the devs list before Horne, Scott and Coates I would say. Possible he is jumping straight to NRL if thats the devs list. Other than Francis and Buk who aren't comparative he is better than the lot. Special player. Happily have him as an NRL player. Coates is obviously more established so will definetly be there but Horne and Scott under no circumstances have a devs deal before Antonio. I love Shiba but there is no way in hell I'm paying a premium for him to stick around with this kid coming through. Moves well and physically just great.

I thought the same thing but reportedly he's on a three year deal.

2026 - T&T
2027/28 - NRL/Dev

Not that it really matters. If Nio is to play NRL next year it will be around the Origin period which he's still eligible for.

Antonio that you said wasn't up to Cup standard?

I don’t remember ever saying that. I’ve rated Antonio very highly the entire time, either you’ve taken something I said the wrong way or you’ve mixed me up.

Madge gave him one day a week training with the NRL squad from July this year.

Not a player signing.. but we've reportedly added two more staff to our off field roster.

Mark Henry, we already know about from @1910

But we've also signed sports scientist Nick Murray from AFL club Melbourne Demons.

Reynolds was asked about Haas going to 360 and said, 'I'm not sure about that, I'm pretty sure he's already locked up.'

No one please click on the article in news limited websites titled something like"reece walsh to leave nrl"....

Its just corey parker saying he is becoming too big a star for the nrl so only a matter of time before union and the reds through big miney at him lol
.... australians couldnt name 3 wallabies and they are drowning in debt. Makes sense...... this "international" bs is getting boring with the wallabies carrot, they are shit, no one overseas knows them and NO ONE in australia knows them. That 2md part is emphasised because its almost lirerally no one lol.

Maybe he could get more upfront contract cash in another code, but anyone who thinks Walsh isnt on unbelievable money already have rocks for brains.

Third parties, sponsorships, brands. He's doing just fine cash wise, and being the best in the world in his sport (he's close if not there already) also comes with more of those perks.

Like Haas, I just don't see him leaving.
