If its 2 years starting from 2026 its a lot of risk but you could understand the risk (experience in the halves is crazy invaluable for every team, even if he isnt playing + the sentimental element for them), but 2 years starting 2027 is bloody cooked lol.

I dont think they are going to increase their offer any further. As great of a player he is, let’s be real, we also won a spoon with him and missed the finals multiple times. I hope he stays, but for $1.3m+ I don’t think we lose too much with someone like koloatamngi or Lindsay Smith for $400-500k less

The club at some point will need to give him deadline. The club is bigger than any player, we can't risk missing out on decent replacements, while he is of holding court with a fantasy union comp. What he should be doing is signing a two year deal with us. To see if the comp even gets off the ground and then go. He would be 27-28 and still in good condition to go off an earn his money.

I have no issue with Haas going at the end of his contract. All the frustration last time came from him wanting to bounce mid-agreement.
He is completely within his rights to sign elsewhere at the end of his contract, and if the NRL lets him see out his last year then we can’t hold anything against him. At least he’s not going to a competing NRL team. He just needs to give us enough notice to plan how we’ll spend his money.
