Gos and J Hunt out of contract end of this season. I dont know what their contracts are worth but...would they equal 60-70% of what a Leota would want?

Patty is miles better for the same price.

Some Sydney team will pay for Leota, but he's been a 40mins player for a long time now... paying $800k for a marquee prop that only plays 40mins is a luxury.

Surprised Uncle Nick is going there considering he's already paying marquee money to Leniu to only play 40mins as well.

I suppose they'll get a full 80mins across them... of course it will cost them about $1.6m
 
Are we talking Moses Leota? Heck yes! I don't care if he only plays 40 - sign me up!

Plus it allows us to put pressure on the Warriors with Barnett anyway.

He's been dargs best player this year and extended last year, but theyve got young gun forwards coming through everywhere and Sua is most effective playing 80 on the edge, so he's a potential roadblock to the young guys.

Luciano would be a more likely candidate to get the tap, but he doesnt need to play 80 to be effective... so you can fit young guys in around him.

I think Sua would thrive under Madge as I think it's his fitness that has stopped him from being a regular rep player... he plays 80 every week and has a high workload, but you can see he slows down at the backend.

Under a Madge preseason the aggressiveness he shows in the first 40mins would be consistently there over the full 80.

He runs good lines, is a good hitter and has a high workrate .... add elite fitness into that and you'd have a gun backrower.

Cost could definitely be an issue, but if he wanted to come back to qld we're basically the only option as dolphins have so many forwards they cant find room for them all and who wants to go to titans.

Well I wonder if Sua got that tap on the shoulder... if true then I kinda hope broncos at least enquired about the situation.

Su'a has apparently been well off the Dargs for a while, so this isn't surprising at all. I trust where the info I was told came from, but don't think we were ever a chance based on what he's currently earning. So not shocked in the slightest if he officially is pushing to leave early

Was always on the cards with the young forwards they've got coming through.

I was surprised they re-signed him last year (I think) with a 2yr extension... they must've offered him some overs to bridge that gap until the young guys were ready, but I thought they looked pretty ready last year to already be starting
 
Would Te Kura free up much cash? I hope we have some signings in the pipeline. Was Lahrs ever a thing or was it all made up?

Most likely made up based on
- Haas leaving
- What middles are off contract
- Hey Lahrs ' dad used to play for the broncos

Would love for us to go after him though.
 
With Haas leaving, Te Kura potentially leaving, Allen getting 14 minutes off the bench in QCup (why even pull him out of NRLQ for 14 minutes?), a 32 year old post ACL coming in, and a 17 year old, our forward stocks are looking grim.

Shining light being Semu's good form lately but it's not like he's banging down the door for a debut.

Hoping we somehow get Mitch this year rather than next.

Unless Gos and J Hunt are on absolute bottom dollar affiliate money I would move them on.

Leota will require much more cash than they would free up I fear. Not the play for mine.
