Broncos Roster, Signings and Rumours Discussion 2026

we don't have a million dollar 5/8
We have a well payed, underperforming 5/8.

He averages just over 1 try assists every 2 games and had missed the most tackles per game than anyone else. Literally bad in both attack and defence. Tom Duffy, who is on a quarter of his wage averages more assists and misses less tackles!

They're spending 1.3mil+ on Haas and 1.1 or w/e it is on Mitchell... how do they have money to spend?
Massive cap increases from 2027 onwards due to the new rights deal.

1 million+ for marquee players is pretty standard now and isn't a big percentage of the cap as it was say 10yrs ago.

I mean it's pretty shit but it's not a surprise, this is the same guy that agitated for a release mid-contract only to rescind it because he didn't like being booed. He is a genuinely great player but he is a pretty shit bloke lets be honest, I think his play on the field masks a lot of it but at a certain point it becomes pretty obvious.
Re: Payne - I'm just glad we didnt get SBW'd like the dogs way back.

I'll never forget his 2025 season and he has been just about the only player to give 100% every time he steps on the field. We'll miss him dearly just like when Parker retired. A clear drop-off in the middle.
