OFFICIAL Broncos sign Ryan James

How isn't casting a wide bow lazy journalism? Brisbane were linked with every senior forward that was available, it's not news it's guess work and members are here are getting robbed of a living if that's all it takes.
I believe badel linked us to napa and woods before talk of James. I think he gets a bit right, but he gets a fair bit wrong too. Definetly enough wrong to think it's just guesswork the majority of the time...

Yes, they did have a sniff, but ruled them out a few weeks ago. At the risk of being a stuck record, the club would "consider" every player off contract, so it's easy to make a "link." Which was @Big Pete 's take. I wouldn't get too excited until they're spotted around the club or staff, or you start hearing about offers. They never made offers to Napa or Woods as far as I know, but we knew they'd been talking money with Ryan. They also talked money with Hynes, so even though we didn't ultimately sign him the "link" was valid:

Even the sun shines on a dogs' arse at least once in its life.

People talking about how James is depth only or is benchy at best are probably not thinking things through
I think he's good enough to be picked in the top 17 each week, which is why I think it's good business if we've picked him up on a cheap deal.

8. Carrigan
10. Haas
11. Capewell
12. Riki/TC/Piakura
13. Kobe

14. Paix
15. Flegler
16. James
17. TC/Riki/Piakura

Willison (ISC)
Piakura (likely ISC, unless he has a huge pre season)
Palasia (depth)
Jensen (depth)
Kennedy (depth)
Bayliss Brown (T&T)

That seems pretty reasonable depth for the middle rotation with Jensen, James, Kennedy and Palasia fighting it out for 1-2 bench spots

lol I wonder if Raiders released James to make space for Fogharty only for titans to say they aren’t releasing him.

My point was he's likely a starter. Mark my words

I think he’s best to not start. Not because he isn’t worthy but because his experience and skills would do well to minimise the slumps when Haas goes off.
Oh that's an interesting point... Good thinking!

I'd imagine it will be something like Flegs and James tag teaming.

I like this signing. The side needs a tighter middle, and having both James and Jensen (both with tackle efficiency 96%+) should help.

1 year? That’s actually an amazing result. I wonder what we are paying him. Considering he had a year left at the raiders anyway, it’s a great win for the club.

Sets it up perfectly to sign Welch for 2023.
There are plenty of players out there who will take 1 year deals now the Phins are going to be in the NRL in 2023. There are players out there who have already been sounded out for playing for an expansion club in 2023 and a James would be a good target for them
