That's a very solid Newcastle side. I'm starting to get a little worried.

WHY??

Might have something to do with the fact they knocked over the Premiers last weekend. Make no mistake, even though Johns has retired and Buderus is out injured the Knights are a formidable opponent. They're playing for a spot in the top 8 and also probably to rectify the embarrassment when they last visited Suncorp (6-71). The biggest danger is Kurt Gidley. He's been great this season and if he has a blinder then Newcastle will be well on their way to winning.

Honestly with our shitty form over the last month how could you not be slightly concerned about Friday night?

Indeed - but it's not the players, it's the desire to win, and Bennett, Henjak and all our players know exactly what they have to do.

This game is eminently winnable.

Knights beat a Storm team well off their game and only by a point.
Big deal.
We will win this. We will have a massive crowd behind us as well not like last week.
Knights don't draw a huge contingent of supporters at Suncorp.
Only thing that could beat the Broncs is if they look into the crowd and see TC faces everywhere. Not pretty.
How many of you will wear the masks?

My team:

1. Hunt
2. Boyd
3. Moon
4. Hodges
5. Kemp
6. Lockyer
7. Wallace
8. Hannant
9. Ennis
10. Clinton
11. Thaiday
12. Stagg
13. Carroll

14. Kenny
15. Eastwood
16. Sims
17. Taylor

Same team, but switch Stagg in for Parker as the 80 minute player. Stagg's shown heaps more than Parker in recent weeks, both in attack and defence. Ennis and Wallace are more than adequate with the boot. Plus if necessary (and I mean ABSOLUTELY necessary), Stagg can be shifted to the centres if there's an injury. More than enough cover for the forwards.

That, IMO, is the best team we could field.

It is....interestingly it is the team named minus one....Oztag Parker out for Taylor in.

Maybe the hit and spin will pay off this game...

Strong team again for this game against an in form Newcastle team.

I really hope they up the intensity for this one and give themselves a shot at a home final or keep themselves in the finals race for at least 2 weeks by finishing 5th.

We need to win this one to show we can match it with the big boys and the in form teams of the competition.

Shut down Gidley and we'll win this easily.

It hasn't paid off for 25 rounds so I have a strange suspicion it won't change for this round.

Can't believe we let Eastwood go and kept this nuffbag. [eusa_doh

Exactly. Parker offers such so many SFA moments. At least Eastwood can make stuff happen.

He needs to bring his fend back- did he damage his arm or something because his fend was one of his best traits.

Speaking of fends! Boyd is getting quite the fend on him.

It makes sense if he is reluctant to use his arm due to the injury. Hopefully he can overcome that and actually be useful.

I was impressed with the way Parker played on sunday, it showed that he is looking to improve his game and pick up where he left off before his injury.

Hate all the Parker bashing tbh.

Parker needs to shave his head and gain a bit of body mass. Then he will redevelop his form of years past.

He was brilliant last year, there's no denying. He and Civoniceva were the only shining lights in a dismal year for the pack.

But his form this year has been abysmal. There's no denying it.

I, like others, am hoping the boys can find some killer form in this game ...... we need it to make an impact in the finals

We wouldn't be bashing him if he gave 100%

Personally I think he is still injured. He just can't seem to stretch out. He moves well enough to get by defensively but in attack he isn't even trying to punch through the line. Last year his hit and spin was working because it was a hit and spin now its more a stop and spin.

When Parker was at his best he was being used as an impact player off the bench. He was also running wide in attack. This season he is playing 80 mins and being used as a workhorse. I don't think we are using him as best as we can. He still needs to bring back the step instead of the circle work.

Yes i have noticed that. Great to see. Too bad we won't be seeing him do it for us for much longer.
