Buderus is none. He had a few golden seasons, next to Johns, but he has been pwned at rep level for many years. He only had the Australian jersey because of Johns.

Buderus was the best hooker of the early part of this decade, but given we haven't had a decent hooker since Steve Walters retired, that's not surprising.

The new Farah vs Smith battle will be up there with Elias vs Walters again. They've already shown how ordinary Buderus was.

Buderus is a better hooker than Farah imo. Farah will struggle away from the Tigers' well-drilled structure.

Don't get me wrong, I am not in love with Buderus, but I think he can stand by his record as one of the better players of recent times. The sticking point seems to be my use of the word champion.

Did Johyns make Buderus look good? How can that be? That's like saying Langer made Walters or Priddis look good. How can a halfback make a hooker look good? The hooker shovels the ball to the halfback... if anything, if the hooker gives good clean ball, he can make the halfback look good...

I think Johns and Buderus made eachother look good. They only got their accolades when they played together, and the absence of one or the other was used as an excuse whenever one of them played badly.

IMO Ennis has a just as good chance of making the NSW side as Farah, if not better. He is a better defender, plus he seems to have been born for it. He's definitely the sort of player who'd cause trouble in all sorts of ways for QLD.

Ok look, saying someone is a better defender than another player is VERY subjective because there are so many things to measure when you're judging a player on how good they are in defence, but you cannot honestly sit there and say that Ennis is "definitely" better than Farah.[/quote:23lw4d76]
