Carlin Anderson

On Saturday against the premiers, Obst dribbles it through the line; in pouring rain Anderson picks it up, jinks right and runs straight through runs 80m chips in field for McGrady to follow along and score.

I swear Marmin scores a couple of tries every week and has the ability to go 100 metres untouched.. what's the reasoning for him not getting a crack in first grade, he must be awful defensively or under the high ball, because his attacking game is insanely good.

35 tries in 28 games for the Jets.

50 goals as well and a field goal.

I don't think he is bad at either of those things. He doesn't take high balls because only an idiot would kick it to him.

This year tackles made and missed.

Wynnum 3/0
Blackhawks 4/2
Capras 4/2
Sunny Coast 5/0
Pride hasn't been done yet.

Scored 6 tries and kicked 12/17.

Anderson v the premiers on the rainy horrible night to be a fullback.

11 runs
214m
3 line breaks
3 tackles
1 miss

While I am at it.

Matty Parcell

49 tackles and 1 miss in a game where the Jets did 131 more tackles than the Pride who had 8 more sets than the Jets and 65% of the ball in the second half.

Which takes his season tally to 193 tackles with 4 misses from 5 games.

re Barba not getting a crack

Just because they dominate QLD cup doesn't mean they automatically would dominate the NRL and rack those numbers up in the NRL either. Look at Shannon Walker as an example. Fantastic Q Cup player but couldn't reach the next stage which was the NRL. Im sure if he keeps posting these numbers he will be given a chance at one stage by Bennett whether it be a trial or a late game call up.

I hope he gets a Crack at first grade soon. Hate to lose him to see him star at another club!

****, lets give him a crack now... Reed - gone; Vidot to center; Anderson to wing

Undeniably good stats.
The Premiers are languishing at the bottom of the table though as they are not the same team as they were last year losing 9 players to the NRL (4), Townsville Blackhawks (2) and others.

Jets v Bears on 9 next week.

Carlin, Barba, Parcell and Griffin in action.

FOUR CLUBS AFTER IPSWICH FLYER | Rugby League Week

IPSWICH Jets flyer Carlin Anderson is at the centre of a fiery bidding war between as many as four NRL clubs who want to sign the teenager.
The Broncos, the Cowboys, the Rabbitohs and Manly are all reportedly interested in signing the 19-year-old with the former believed to have already offered Anderson a one-year deal for the 2016 season.

At 180cm with the ability to play fullback, wing or centre, Anderson is a prized asset for any side in need of quality outside backs.
The Rabbitohs, who have Joel Reddy, Bryson Goodwin, Alex Johnston, Darryl Millard and the suspended Kirisome Auva’a all off-contract at season’s end, could emerge as Brisbane’s biggest threat in the race to sign Anderson, who also represented Queensland in rugby, cricket and softball.
On the back of two straight losses, the premiers are currently struggling for points and clearly lack strike-power in key positions in the backline.

The embattled Manly Sea Eagles are another side who are in desperate need of quality outside backs and could loom as a contender for Anderson’s services.
The northern beaches club have also been linked with the Broncos Daniel Vidot in recent weeks given the injuries sustained by Brett Stewart, Clint Gutherson, Jorge Taufua and rookie Tom Trebojevic.
Anderson is not the only Jets player back attracting the intersest of NRL clubs. Marmin Barba has been in sensational form for Ipswich and looms as a potential target for the Sea Eagles or the Sharks, where he could be reunited with his brother Ben once again.

Why would he sign with us when he apparently has the almighty Whitchurch blocking his path to first grade.

What the **** is going on!

This week would be the perfect opportunity to give him a game!

Truth. It seems Bennett is giving a go to fringe players (Ofahengaue, Molo, Garbutt, Whitchurch, Vidot) where we have first choices unavailable.

Given our current situation, I would like to see him, Drew or Opacic given a shot. Whitchurch may be more capable than recent performances suggest but I would like to see if our other options can cut the mustard.

Someone maybe leaving is not a good reason to hand them an NRL spot. Is Anderson talented yep, is he safe and dependable- not yet. He might never been the safe player.

In his 25 games, he does the big huge things well. Picks up a ball on his feet and runs 100m to score- brilliant. He then kicks the goal too.

But then on the fifth tackle he doesn't contest a bomb and let's it bounce. I will say this, on Sunday he left the ground and took a brilliant bomb under huge pressure so I think he's moving forward on that and he's playing a new position.

So I guess it depends on if you're prepared to take that risk. He's a brilliant natural footballer.

Just some stats for this year:

Runs 94 (13.4 pg)
Metres 990 (141 pg)
Offloads 10 (1.4 pg)
Line breaks 6 (.8 pg)
Tries 4
Goals 5/6.

Fans say take the risk, then when he drops two bombs the internet will blow up with he should never have been picked- who is this nuffy.

Personally I'd take the risk, I love that type of footballer.

even if it is a risk, surely he is less of a liability than Whitchurch.
