QUEENSLAND rugby league lost a great servant with the death this week of Denis White, father of Broncos chief executive Paul.
White, aged 80, dedicated 35 years to the Brothers club and the code in Rockhampton and was the first patron of the Brothers club who wasn’t a Brother or priest.
“He was larger than life,” White’s close friend Steve Parle said.
“He had three passions in life — family, rugby league and religion.
“Denis was so passionate about football and so generous with his time that we ended up naming a bar at the leagues club after him .’’
White’s funeral will be held in Rockhampton later this month with details to be confirmed.
My condolences to the White family, RIP Denis.
