“The leadership group has two groups within it,” Lockyer said. “There are individuals there who are developing leaders such as Pat Carrigan, Payne Haas and Brodie Croft and then there are the experienced leaders like Alex Glenn, Matt Lodge, Ben Te’o and Tevita. “With the COVID restrictions, it has been difficult with me not in the bubble. “The objective is try and drill down into the individual a bit more and tailor the messages to each guy to get the best out of them.”

Boyd is rumoured to have told Seibold he won't be part of the leadership meetings anymore because apparently Seibold doesn't take his suggestions about the team on board.
The leadership "group" has been disbanded now and is simply the 7 named players having 1 on 1 meetings with Lockyer instead.

that should be good news to BHQ since i'm pretty confident that not only does everyone around here not want him to be part of the leadership group ... but they don't want him to be part of the team.

also, I'm not sure that Boyd could deal with any coach not named Wayne Bennett

This is just like Starscream and Megatron.

But in all seriousness, this is the problem that I have been speaking about in other posts. Boyd (and Milford) clearly does not click with Seibold and runs and cries to (apparently) Locky when they not getting his way. This attitude undermines everything. Seibold has a totally different style to Bennett and if the style is half and half you just get a mess. It's poor form from the older guys who should be professional enough to follow the new coach. But they get paid more than him so....

Who is the source of this "rumour?"

Edit: nevermind, it's Badel, of course. A few more quotes from this article.

Boyd on Fox, asked why he wasn't named at 1 sooner:

"It’s a good question … you’d have to ask the coach. We’ve had a few conversations. I’ll keep them in-house. I’ve wanted to play fullback all year. I still think I’m the best fullback at the club. Seibs must have thought differently.”

Lockyer on Te'o's apparent elevation:

“Ben Te’o is well-travelled. He has been to different successful organisations and even though he isn’t playing a lot of minutes, the guys respect and listen to him.”

Badel notes Darius was "Brisbane’s most vocal player behind the goalposts in their 28-10 loss to Souths."

Carrigan:

“It has been challenging (as a leader) because the Broncos is such a big club, but I’m enjoying it. I am pretty lucky at the club with guys like Darius and Alex who have done what they have in the game, as well as Darren Lockyer. As a team we are missing things in certain areas, so it (leadership training) is about how you can help others be better around you.”

Seibold certainly has his faults, but it’s another example of him being on a hiding to nothing from the moment he was appointed. White & Morris have a lot to answer for, their bungled management made him a target for soo many - players, old boys, & fans.

I hope Pies repays the sincere loyalty shown by Darbs by putting him on the bench for his last game and not using him. Spoilt prick. No one is bigger than the club.
NEVER FORGET IT!

Yeah part of me still isint sold on him being a dud. There are just so many other factors at play.

How is Pangia in the leadership group? He has the iq of a 2 year old.
The whole club is quickly turning into a cluster **** under seibold and the longer it goes on the worse damage it will be. They really need to pull the trigger now and not later

Why not just bench him? Theres a list 100m long as to why

Boyd, Pangai, Staggs, Roberts, Fifita, Niko, Milford refusing to play fullback, the list goes on and on.

At what point is the coach just shit and can't keep a team happy?

Bag Boyd all you like but there's clearly a lot of very unhappy players in the team and the performances on the field are shocking.

It all points to a coach who needs to get the boot.
