So according to my source close to Red Hill (and to some in the media, if you've been paying attention to the tidbits), after much probing, I got it out of them that recently, Alfie took on a 1 on 1 mentoring role with Hunt. And haven't the results of that been put into stark reality. Hunt has been a different player these past two rounds. Lets hope the general teaches him a few more tricks before he's finished with him.

That is literally the first time I've seen that article (I don't read Newscorp junk). Nice pickup Foordy.

Langer has spent recent months mentoring Hunt at training, but downplayed his role in the halfback’s transformation from interchange Mr Fixit to chief shot-caller.
“I haven’t actually had to do too much with him,” Langer said.
“He’s just had to gain confidence and that’s what he’s doing. People wrote him off, but he hasn’t played halfback for the last three years, he was coming off the bench playing 10 or 15 minutes. That was hard for him.

“He’s also had to get used to playing with a new five-eighth and new fullback. It’s a tough job, so the Broncos need to be patient with Ben and give him the time to succeed.”

Yeah, I believe there was an article not too long ago about Alfie guiding Ben Hunt and informing him to stop second guessing himself on the plays.

Always interesting to hear that there's a bit more to it than just that, so cheers IBM.

I don't care whether it's Alfies doing or not ..... i'm just glad to see Hunt getting a fair shot and playing very well for us.

Broncos to debut

2009, RE: Hunt's first grade debut (alongside A.McCullough in the halves!)

5 years sounds like an eternity. This is what the club has been building towards.

Hunt, Milford, Barba and McCullough in their prime.

Now if we could just get Lockyer to work with Hoffman....

Best case scenario, Hodges in for Reed, Hoffman for Maranta, Kahu/Strasser/whoever into the halves

Sorry i have derailed this thread
I would think it is a 50/50 call. Won't be surprised which gets left out

That would be an interesting game to watch.

I like the idea of shifting Hoffman to Reed's centre spot, Kahu coming in to the 6, Hodges coming into Copley's centre spot, and Copley shifting down to Maranta's wing spot. Everyone will stay remain on the same side they are at the moment whilst accommodating the returning players.
2. Vidot
3. Hoffman
6. Kahu
on one side, and:
5. Copley
4. Hodges
7. Hunt
on the other side.
And yeah, sorry for being off-topic.

I can't see Kahu even making the side now.

Griffin is becoming more of a fan of the Hoffman/Hunt combo. I think that's going to be our halves combination for the rest of the year.

Hoffman to remain in the halves with Barba & Hodges taking on some playmaking responsibility.
