Johnson and Beale will pull out due to recently returning from injuries. And RTS and Harris have said they are putting club before country.

George Burgess is also out.

Kind of turns this whole thing into a big joke when players pull out.

NZ have sufficient cover for RTS and Harris.

It's not like they are scraping the bottom of the barrel..

If I was an NRL club, I'd be telling the NZRL that if they ever pull this sort of bullshit again, they will lose access to all employees currently in their NRL team during the season.

The fact this test exists at this time is just more proof that the people in charge of league have absolute rocks in their heads.

Why?

The game is getting more known in America and more popular. Why not take games there and try to grow it? There is a market there.

I don't see the point of having it in the off-season when NFL season starts.

Because the NRL is far more important than sending all these players across the dateline twice, and expecting them to come back and put in.

While we need to do something about the International game, and steps in the correct direction are being made, it shouldn't negatively affect the teams in the NRL. Also, they should have known players would pull out, and sending over two stripped down, half assed teams doesn't do anything to show off the true talent in the game.
