FOOTBALL English Premier League 23/24 Discussion

Maguire saves us from having to watch 30 more mins of this fucking garbage. He was miles offside too, but no VAR saves the day.

Linesman didn't want to go through another half hour of that. He was directly in line with the play, should have been able to spot the offside easily. But I'll take it.

Amorim made that game more complicated than it needed to be. Playing Dalot at left back when we just signed one and playing the one we signed at right back and then taking him off at half time. Bruno in a pivot isn't working which made Ugarte's job much more difficult. Not starting Garnacho, we were better when he was on.

It didn't help him that the likes of Mainoo and Amad played poorly. Too many touches, overthinking it and playing too slow and not more direct like Garnacho was.

Dorgu apparently played quite a bit of RW early career, so him playing right wouldn't be as big of a deal if we also had a LB, but was certainly an odd choice to invert them.

Can't believe Leyton Orient didn't equalize there.

Free shot at the back post, that was a massive blown chance.

City scamming a win.

City got the Argyle, what a shock 😂

Of course they do.

Salford, Leyton Orient and now Plymouth Argyle.

Meanwhile we get Arsenal, Leicester City and Fulham, all PL teams while City get League 1 and League 2 teams.

Hopefully Plymouth cause another big upset.

Rather scam a win, then lose to Plymouth 😜

Cheisa has been out a while hasn't he? Holy shit he was bad today.
He's had a few decent games this season. I'd say that was an anomaly in the scheme of things but he was awful..

I don't like that Slot didn't care for the FA Cup. As an LFC fan I want us to win everything so his team selection was disappointing. At least take a few of the senior players to sit on the bench in case of emergency. Losing Gomez in the 11th minute was no excuse, what was the point of having Curtis Jones if he wasn't going to be used?

Anyway, the online reaction is a bit wild. Never seen rival fans so desperate to get their jabs in despite what clearly wasn't a priority for us.

I dunno if he didn't care. He would have fully expected that team was capable of beating Plymouth.

Front 3 was still Diaz, Jota, Chiesa. Sure it's not Salah, but that front 3 should be scoring against prem teams let alone bottom of the championship.

Maybe he just assumed those 3 would score more than Plymouth would and that would be enough.

People carrying on is to be expected though, it's a huge result in the context of both teams seasons, but at the end of the day Liverpool still have 3 trophies in play so it is what it is, and they've saved themselves several games.

City facing the very real possibility of not making it beyond the play-off round in the CL.

Ineos sacking more staff ( up to 200 staff ) at United to apparently raise money for players. Its going probably rais 5 million pounds tops. Thats not doing to make a dent for a premier league club. This is on top of the sackings they have done already and the cuts to charity organisations. Its disgusting.

I'd be embarrassed and ashamed if i was a fan of this club treating just regular working people in this way. The morale off the field there must be abysmal. Ratcliffe is just as bad as the Glazers.

Yeah its disgraceful.

Overpaying duds hundreds of thousands a week, millions every year in debt interest, a debt which they don't even seem to be paying down.

It's disgusting. The only way to save this club was full sale, it's broken beyond repair currently.

Ineos are the 2nd worst thing to happen to the club since the Glazers.

Speaking to a couple of United supporting mates back home, they cant believe how bad Ratcliffe has been. While i like to poke fun at the so called " Big Six " and the way they think they are above the other clubs in England, its a shame in some ways to see a side i used to love watching when they had Keane, Cantona, Schmeichel etc end up the way they have.

Maybe true but it was telling he didn't bother with any quality on the bench. It was quite foreseeable that we could go behind, the crowd would get up and we might need some fire power.

Jota was only played to get fitness (been out a while), Chiesa barely kicked a ball outside of a few meaningless cup games, and Diaz is our back up LW. They all played due to rotation and need for minutes.
I think the players that deserve more criticism are Elliott, Quansah and Tsimikas. The three of them were shocking and this is exactly the sort of competition where they have to stake their claim for regular mins. Then again it was a bunch of players that haven't played together so its understandable.

On the last part, is it?

Not one LFC fan is going to care about the FA cup if we win the prem haha. I don't think it means that much tbh.

I don't really get the vitriol towards Ineos/Jim. They are not the decision makers.

Glazers still run the show and now they've got a scapegoat who everyone is happy to go after instead.

Quenda to United a done deal according to reports from Portugal and the Sporting youth coach.

Not sure another young kid is something I would go for before an experienced striker and 10.
