FOOTBALL English Premier League 23/24 Discussion

Another disgusting watch that was. Tough run coming though, and we somehow need to find a shred of form for Europa.

I'm hoping it's a case of the players have given up on the league and that they will perform better for the games that actually matter. That's wishful thinking, though.

We have Fulham next in the FA Cup and they have a good away record only losing 4 games away from home.

Dorgu is also suspended for 3 games meaning Dalot goes to LB.

It's a winnable game, but it's also a game we could lose very easily.

As impossible as it seems, we need to win one of the 2 comps.

FA Cup gets us into Europa, Europa win would get us into UCL.

I can't see either happening though, and am fully expecting to be out next round in both tbh.

So apparently Rashford wants to stay at Villa.

That's good for us if Emery feels the same way at the end of the season which I believe he does.

I personally don't think you'll get that much money for him.

We saw a host of European clubs withdraw their interest once his wages were known. He might take a pay cut but that's only half the problem.

Villa took the chance this window but they won't be interested in him long term. They have other priorities from a squad perspective, especially if they don't make Europe. Malen was their long term winger signing while Asensio and Rashford were calculated short term moves. I could actually see them taking Grealish back if anything.

The other tricky part about selling him is he seems a guy motivated to play European comps, which eliminates Saudi and a lot of the prem clubs that may have gambled (West Ham, Brentford, Spurs, Fulham etc).

Serie A clubs can't afford him unless its a loan. Only Atleti have money in Spain but they don't play with wingers (Cholo likes defensive minded wide midfielders). Bayern and PSG have changed their recruitment strategies to focus on emerging talent.

That only really leaves Dortmund (who have Gittens), the Turkish clubs, and the top 5-6 prem sides. Newcastle I can see as a destination but its already well known they're in for a quiet summer with FFP tightening and they have Gordon. Chelsea have other priorities too.

I could see a club like Napoli, Milan or Brighton coming to the table but it would almost certainly be a cut price deal. A potential Son replacement at Spurs I could also see but I just don't know if you'll get a good deal out of Levy.

Give the Carabao Cup to Liverpool

Anthony Gordon red card and won't be available to play.

What was Livramento doing there?

He kept Welback onside and Welback wins the game for Brighton. Newcastle out of the FA Cup.

Dumb as shit challenge.

Another disappointing watch this morning. Fulham were the better team so it is what it is. But Lindelof and Zirkzee's penalties were both terrible.

Something needs to change with the attack though..

Never seen a more obvious appointment than Southgate to United.

United should have done it before they approach Amorim. Would have at least saved some time

I would be starting Chido and Garnacho. Chido looked good in his cameo against Fulham and was very unlucky not to score.

Hopefully Amorim drills into Bruno, Zirkzee and whoever else is up front to look to create chances for Chido.

I wonder if Amorim needs to start looking at tweaking his formation.
