FOOTBALL English Premier League 25/26 Discussion

The Pep stuff is what could actually unsettle them. They were shithouse again today, Haaland hasnt been at it at all, same with Foden/Silva.

Silva has been by far their best player of late. They missed him this morning.

I wouldn't read anything in to that result, Pep knows these UCL games are virtually meaningless. He was just experimenting and didn't even bother to try change the game.

Agree there's something weird going on with him lately though.

**** yeah what a win.

Is that the first game Arsenal have lost at home all season?

Also that Dorgu goal. What a screamer.

We're going to get Carrick as our manager aren't we.... at least it's better than Southgate

Next few games are the answer to this. Even under Amorim and ETH we did okay in some 'big' games.

How we go about dealing with these sort of opponents will tell us a lot.

They would be mad to give Carrick the job based on 2 games even though they were good wins. I think more will be learned in their next 5 games rather than these first 2 because they are all games they should be winning.

Is it not already confirmed that the Man U owners are stupid / 'mad'

Carrick getting the job would be good PR and I wouldn't be surprised if the owners do go down that route. It would please a lot of the fan base if they did give him the job as calls for him to get the job are getting louder and louder.

"He's an ex-United legend. He gets United and will bring back the glory days." That's what's going around on the socials at the moment.

He's not the man for the job but I just wouldn't be surprised if he does get it.

I think the difference to Ole is that Carrick actually has a good track record. Whether he's ready for the United job who knows, but I always felt he was ready to take a prem team. He's a really good tactical manager and proven it already in his short time in charge.

Time to make the call, Liverpool.

He's gotta be sacked.

Welcome aboard mate, some of us have been saying this for months!

They're going to give Carrick the job because he's cheap and they can control him. I'm hearing Tuchel's name being thrown around but he'll demand a lot of money for himself and his coaching staff. When the inevitable happens and he gets the sack, they will have to pay out that money. Tuchel will also want control and a budget that this regime won't agree to.

Plus as I said before, it's good PR if Carrick gets the job and we all know how much INEOS loves that. It will get fans on board because he's a United legend. I would be shocked if he doesn't get the job.

But it won't matter who we pick. We could pick up Ancelotti and he won't succeed under this regime because they won't give the managers everything they need to succeed so in two years we'll be back to this bullshit all over again.

What do you think a Man United manager needs to be given to succeed?

What a finish to Benfica - Madrid last night. Not a huge Mourinho fan but you have to give him credit. Plus it's always nice to see Madrid implode. Bunch of whingers.

The Benfica GK time wasting late game with them up by 1, being told they actually needed another goal to get through to play-offs, then scoring said goal is just crazy.
