FOOTBALL English Premier League 25/26 Discussion

"We have full belief we can do it. Today we have shown the team that we are. It's still in our hands, and it's there for the taking."

Yeah nah. Arteta is wetting himself.

You have Newcastle, Fulham, West Ham, Burnley and Palace.

Surely you can win all 5 of those.

City have Burnley, Everton, Brentford, Bournemouth, Palace and Villa. I can't see them losing another game so the pressure is on.

Yea I hope we can go on with it - it just feels like history repeating itself though...

Yep Arsenal need to win the battle in their heads before they can do it on the field, the attack has failed the squad IMO sigh.......

Not sure what the fix is but they need to tweak something to spark their attack.

If both teams win their remaining games, it comes down to goal difference and City are only 1 behind. They're going to pile on points on a couple of their remaining opponents.

I just don't like their mentality. They have some great attacking players but they're so focused on keeping it tight and playing for set pieces. You just don't feel a "go for it" sentiment that you see with other teams challenging.

I thought the way Arsenal took on the game today was far better than recently, and another day those 2 post hits are goals, and Havertz at least gets that last chance on target.

Don't get me wrong, they looked shaky right off the bat, and Raya nearly gifted them a goal. But Donnarumma was the same and did gift Arsenal a goal.

I think when you look at the last 7/8 games, Arsenal has let themselves down but really do think for the most part today it was much better.

Gabriel should have been red carded though, and if Haaland went down he would have been.

Mate I 100% agree with everything here. I was actually typing in the broader sense.

They were definitely up for the fight with city and having Eze back is so important for the run in. Overall Arsenal has spread the goals around but it has come back to haunt us. The team is now fatiguing/injured and surprise surprise the goals have dried up. Arsenal need that marquee attacker. We have the roster to be able to cover whoever that is not tracking back etc. I guess the question is will Arteta be able to be flexible with his non-negotiables.

I hope we can get some kind of silverware this season but I do think it's clear we need to sell and invest heavily at the front of the pitch.

Yeah tough one, I'd say having a consistent starting 11 would go a long way. There's not much else to do. It's winning time boys you have to go get it.

Its absolutely their mentality. When they played us at Molineux they were 2-0 up against the worst side in the league after 56 mins and they started sitting back and time wasting and ended up dropping 2 points in the end.

I still think they are just going to limp over the line and win the title, but if Arteta took the hand break off and stopped with the negative, time wasting tactics they seem to employ the title race would already be over.

Not sure why Arteta held Gyokeres back until the 85th minute.

You're down by 1, need a goal, your best striker and top goal scorer is fit, but by the time he puts him on he barely has enough time to make any kind of impact.

Tonights the night hopefully we get officially put out of our misery and get relegated. Ironically, its more than likely going to be by a manager adored by Wolves fans.

Hopefully Nuno keeps West Ham up over Spurs after the way they treated him there.

He is their best finisher, but I don't think he gets in the positions that Havertz and Jesus do, and thats a big problem for him.

Think I agree with Wolfie, think some people in the media, city fans etc are very much underestimating city's run home.

Everton, Bournemouth, Villa all very capable of taking a point from City, and if Arsenal now finally take some shackles off and attack, they should win their last 5.

Unrelated, Jose to Newcastle would be interesting.

Not saying I would definitely want Eddie Howe, but I'd hope the club interviewed him if he did become available. They've had a shit season, and granted I don't watch them every week but thought last few seasons before this they played pretty good football

If Howe gets the boot from Newcastle, Carrick could have put himself into a position where he takes over Newcastle, especially being a former Wallsend player. He's also a Newcastle fan so it could be an obvious choice.

Yeah, dunno if they will boot Eddie, just seen some people linking Jose after he said he couldn't confirm if he'd still be at Benfica next season.
