FOOTBALL English Premier League 25/26 Discussion

Wirtz is a good player, but he was never worth the kind of money paid for him. The Veron comparison is a good one. Veron was a superb player, but he probably wasnt suited to premier league football and he also had to compete for a position with Scholes and Keane ( imo, the best all round midfield player i've ever seen ). Sometimes good players just dont work out and nobody can really put their finger on it.

As for Citeh, i think its kind of playing out like i thought it would. Arsenal will limp over the line in a less than convincing fashion. Its been a low quality title race really this season compared to some we have seen in recent years. If Arsenal take confidence from winning their first title in a long time, i can see them actually going from strength to strength with some good recruitment in the summer.

Can't agree. That's a poor decision, it's going up off his thigh and changes direction off his fingers. And pretty obviously on replay. Might be a slight touch but it's the touch that directs to the goal.

It doesn't change direction. Keeper saves it and parries it into his thigh and it rebounds off his thigh and is always heading towards goal whether there was a touch or not.

But then if you don't allow that you gotta go back to the foul on him prior to that and Liverpool give away a penalty which Bruno would slot easily.
 
Santa we are off the Champions League final baby!!! Whatever happens from here whether I'm devastated or overjoyed I'm going to do my best to enjoy the ride.

It's strange it has taken me this long to finally begin enjoying this season. The whole thing has been hard and gruelling but for some reason this win finally let the pressure valve off. I'm excited instead of stressed.

Having recently been in 3 and lost 2, just soak it all in. Enjoy the early wake up, get yourself settled in front of the TV or go meet some friend's out for it.

I still remember waking up for Istanbul and my devastation at HT when we were down 3-0. Obviously everyone knows the tale from there but the following season was a very low moment when we lost it.

Can't take a UCL final for granted. They're an awesome occasion and the ecstasy when that final whistle goes and you've won it is unmatched.

Funny UCL final story, I split my head open at a pub after I jumped to celebrate our win over Chelsea. The headache that next morning was fierce combination of head pain and hangover for 18 year old me. Had to get a few stitches.
