I remember that. It was such a bizarre thing to say but he wasn’t lying. We never saw that type of performance ever again and makes you wonder why.

They clicked playing that style, especially against the Storm the previous week, so it was a damn shame they didn’t persist with it, though they were very unlucky not to beat the Cows in the Townsville final playing more orthodoxly. If Roberts doesn’t get suspended the previous week & Glenn doesn’t end up targeted in the centres, or if Gillett doesn’t trip JT in the final minute, they win. Though they finished higher in 2017 I thought they never threatened the way they did at the beginning or end of 2016

Our defence out wide then was pretty awful too. Up and in, no 3 and 4 defenders in cover, no line. Same as now. Difference then and now is then we could score a lot of points.
