He basically would have a CC medal if we held on five minutes longer in '23.

Munster mentioned Walsh and Mam as our threats literally after this last game when Mam didn't even play. Not sure you're on the right track here.
 
What’s everyone’s thoughts re the preferred timeslot for this game ? Canberra apparently pushing for Sunday afternoon, which I would think suits the Broncos’ strengths

I think I would prefer Sunday... who the **** wants to be in Canberra on a Saturday night with the dew... although in September now so maybe the temps are getting back up there 🤔

The issue with a Sunday game is a pretty short turnaround if you lose... I think week 2 games are Friday and Saturday night yeah?

Not really fussed given we lucked out with a Thursday game for our final round. Also, I think we've gotten over our daytime curse.

Happy with Canberra getting to choose the day, but that could backfire on them if they lose.

Apparently Saturday is the most likely for us anyway.
 
Wahs will need to have either Saturday first game or Sunday because of the timezone.

Is Friday usually a qualifying final? (if so assume that is Storm vs Dogs)

I think the All Blacks are playing a game in NZ on Saturday vs South Africa... if that's the case then NRL should probably schedule the wahs game for Sunday

Sat Early: Elim 5 vs 8
Sat Night: 1 vs 4
Sunday: Elim 6 vs 7

2023 was;
Friday: 2 vs 3
Sat Early: 1 vs 4
Sat Night: Elim 6 vs 7
Sunday: Elim 5 vs 8

Given Raiders play Sunday, I assume Dogs vs Storm will be Friday night, meaning we'll be Saturday with an elim final on Sunday.
 
I would treat this game as another week of rest and bring him in for the next one we play. Paix needs to be dropped and if Mam is fit he flourishes next to Walsh so hes in. Walters is the best 14 in the NRL.
 
With Pies and Cats winning in the AFL this week, theres no AFL at all in Melb next weekend for finals wk 2. Storm should be expecting a big crowd now for Friday

Make sense... shortest turnaround to week 2 should favour the top 4 teams.

Broncos should complain if the NRL even consider raiders request.

It's not like they're going into the finals with a 5 day turnaround... it's still six days and Ricky has rested most of his team anyway
 
I get theres a fair debate either way, but are people really using areys stuff up of the 2023 gf as evidence against Ben hunt? I love him but.... BEN HUNT people.... do people not realise the irony?
 
Some thoughts

- We have to exploit Fogarty's edge. Raiders concede 53% of their tries on the right and their left edge is suspect too: https://www.statsinsider.com.au/sport-hub/nrl/left-right.
- We were smart not to play super block shapey against Storm, but I think we need to approach this game differently. Neutralise their middles, then play an open style and get Walsh wide and early ball on block shape to run around their edges. Piakura hard inside line at Fogarty and Walsh sweeping should be lights out
- Have to recall Shibasaki. He matches well against Timoko. Shiba dominates smaller centres in yardage and Timoko shouldn't have enough speed to worry in defence
- Raiders are probably the best in the game at that direct one pass hit up right behind the ruck. Our marker defence has to improve. Against Storm, Garlick came close to scoring twice and a more athletic dummy half probably scores in those situations. Can't afford to be lazy against Starling/Pattie
- Kick chase is going to be critical against Weekes/Tamale. I imagine we will try to bomb Tamale to remove him from the 2nd tackle hit up and smash Stuart on the next play

you know what i find funny ... and the NRL administration aren't smart enough to realise...

The Raiders are lobbying for the extra day to get a longer turn around, but they are RESTING 10 players, so why do they need a longer turnaround .... the fact that there is a team wearing a Raiders jersey playing the Phins tomorrow is irrelevant since the vast majority of those playing won't be lining up against the soon-to-be premiers next weekend

Yep and milf would have had his own and still would be playing for us now if bunt didn’t cook us 10 years ago…. Things happen and things change.

Sure but that's just shifting the goalposts. Your point was no one is looking at the team sheet worried about Ezra Mam. The team we literally just played two days ago mentioned him by name completely unprompted as a threat along with Walsh. That is the second best team in league right now. Your argument is done right there.

Please, lip service from someone we beat means **** all.

And I’m not saying here a plodder, he can play, just he’s not a game winner that anyone outside of this forum actually cares about.
 
He almost won a CC medal, but he didn’t and we lost the game..: then he had a mental breakdown and played 50% of the next two season… what a legend

That lip service was unprompted from the current Australian five-eighth, Queensland captain who is known to be a whinger and not credit anyone for anything.

Its actually funny watching you try and prove your point by handwaving off the undeniable evidence. It is your MO though to be fair, but still funny nonetheless.
