After watching the game tonight, I got to thinking… who will the Broncos miss more? Tom or Keenan? Keeping in mind their:
Contribution this year
Their $$$ value
Attack
Defence

Flegler is easily the more likely to go a long way to winning us a game but you have to sift through all the penalties and errors to get to it.

Palasia's a first grade standard forward but I don't know that he will ever be more than that.

Personally, for the money that Flegs is on, I’d keep Palasia. Flegler is a penalty magnet, does dumb shit and drops the ball. For half the price, Keenan is a quiet achiever, reliable and has improved out of sight this year. Can we say the same about Flegler?!

Flelger because we use him more, he is a better player too but Palasia has been pretty good lately.

A few here have a tendency to hugely overrate players because we're doing well.

Palasia has been solid, if not very good but a few weeks of good form mean nothing for career trajectory and both are playing in a red hot team. It's the classic Melbourne Storm scenario of hugely overeating solid players who then go on to not do much because it's easy to stand out when you're playing a simple role and have an amazing platform to play off.

Flegler long term with be a tier A forward, Palasia will likely stay a C grade forward. Okay-to-good, not great.

Flegler cuts out the brain farts (he's 24 and hasn't played 100 games) he'll be a rep player long term.

Flegler was Haas-like tonight in his second stint, that is a huge bonus to have in your side. Palasia would have been a regular first teamer next year but it is what it is.
This is the part I think everyone (including Keenan) is regretting.
However, we also have a couple of young bookends by the name of Te Kura and Willison 😉🔥

Absolutely and Baker has been playing very well for the Roosters without getting any plaudits. We've got Keenan well and truly covered. Flegler on the other hand will be harder to replace, though Willison looks like a superstar in the making. He is still probably a year or two off what Tom is producing though.

I think realistically you look at what Palasia does with big minutes and compare him to Jensen and he loses in all the stats, Palasias real advantage is he has good ball playing skills as a first reciever which we have gotten several tries from in the last few games alone.

We haven't played him anywhere near enough for good minutes to compare him properly but from what I see he is a Lock not a prop who does loads of hit ups and meters, he can play prop but he isn't the best at it, even if we kept him I would see him as Patty's rotation nothing else.

I can see him taking the starting 13 jersey at Titans next year though, it would be a good combo with them having Tino and Mo as their props.

Broncos will absolutely miss both. In terms of raw talent, Broncos will miss Flegler more. Of course long term its all about keeping a balanced squad and I don't think the Broncos could keep him, Carrigan and Haas all on big money and not suffer somewhere else.
Palasia would have been good to keep on a lower wage, he'd provide the same sort of value as Jensen only with more talent/potential, but I'm not sure how much he'll be earning at the Dolphins, maybe its overs too. Broncos hit gold with Haas and Carrigan, it's all about finding cheaper complimentary pieces now and talented rookies on low rookie deals.

Palasia will get lost in the shuffle of a Titans pack that will play on the back foot more often that not. Can be a really handy player on a team that plays more front foot like we have been this season.

Flegler will still still be a beast for the Phins. He just needs to get some of the penalties out of his game, and possibly hold back a couple of the offloads.

I think we'll be ok without both but Fleggy is definitely clear.

I keep forgetting about Baker coming here next year @Sproj good point!
Haven’t seen much of him, but heard from Rorter fans he is pretty handy

I was disappointed, but not surprised, we lost Flegs. He was already being overpaid for what he delivered and I couldn't see us getting into a bidding war over a fringe Origin player with development issues. In retrospect - given the salary cap he'd be eating - I'm not disappointed as he hasn't had the year I was expecting from him.

I was surprised, but nonplussed, about losing Palasia. He seemed well integrated into the group - publicly chummy with Carrigan, Walsh and Piakura, etc - but I hadn't managed to form any opinion on his potential. Early in the season, he was distinctly underwhelming but he's carried his weight in the latter.

I voted for Keenan, but strictly in the Moneyball sense. I think our depth will more than cover their loss.

Great review @McHunt, I share your views on this 💯. Moneyball Palasia 👍🏻
More than enough depth from young and hungry players coming through

Just on the destination of these two players. Has anyone seen a list of the Titans and Dolphin's forwards for next year?

Off the top of my head both seem to have alot of real depth. Especially the Phins after picking up Kerr mid season this year plus they get flegs next year. I wonder if we could pick up a cheap injury cover/deapth out of those sides for next year?

Do we need another depth forward?
