MOTORSPORTS Formula 1

This is going to be good. Can Max manage to hold up the field and get the McLarens into a scrap with the likes of Russell and Leclerc? Does Norris try and take Max on knowing the way he races?

Redbull got the rules changed mid race in 21 to get Max a win so anything is possible

We can only hope. It is the next best thing to Lando and Max taking each other out...we can dream.

Let's go lads, enjoy the finale. Hopefully its interesting

"We've asked Oscar to up the pace"

Comical. He is on a harder compound and running lap to lap quicker than Lando already.

Why should he churn his tyres and wear into his upside where he can run longer on the hards?

We need Norris and Max in to get off the mediums and then a SC to give Oscar the cheap pit

Oscar ran so bloody long on the hards. He now has to find 1.5s a lap on Max..

Of course Lando didn’t get penalised.

What a disappointing result. Can’t think of a less deserving world champion sadly.

It’s so frustrating, this was Oscar’s chance. Next year is going to be so hard with the new regulations, Red Bull being back and no doubt other teams having a massive shift in performance as it’s all so unknown. McLaren robbed Piastri and now he has to celebrate these idiots gifting the championship to his teammate instead. Salt in the wound that is.

Im disappointed for Oscar too but this was the right call. Lando only went off because Yuki drove like an asshole. Can't punish Lando for that one imo when he was avoiding a driver who was penalised.

Compare what Checo did to Hamilton vs Yuki trying to slow Lando 😂

Sure but Oscar got two ridiculous penalties earlier in the season which ultimately cost him the championship probably.

It's definitely a bitter pill to swallow seeing Oscar cop some rather pedantic penalties (from memory) throughout the year while Lando somehow doesn't get pinged. Ever. Meanwhile he also got the better strategies throughout the year while in an inferior position to Piastri.

You can't control the officials though and strategies are just that, strategies and while I can't recall all of them, I'm sure that some of those strategies could have easily gone the other way and ended up costing Lando instead.

What can be controlled though is team orders and the Monza farce remains the most pivotal moment in Oscars season for mine. That saw the start of the decline with DNF's etc. The cherry on top was when Norris ran into him while in Singapore at turn one and was allowed to keep the position he gained. Oscar questioning on the radio was basically met with crickets and was pretty sad listening. Lando was going to cop some consequences after the race though right? Apparently he did, we were told he did but Brown elected to keep the details private. In other words, he copped nothing and Piastri was probably told to remember his place or some shit.

Really disappointing end to a great season. All this talk of Oscar leaving needs to calm down though. I'm sure any team would take him, but who's he unseating as lead driver and would that team be worth switching to. The changes next year are going to be very interesting, as it stands it seems people are going to have to learn how to drive all over again.

What I'm hoping now is that boy wonder has been gifted his championship, the team actually plays fair they just let them race, none of this Papaya rules stupidity moving forward.

I suspect Oscar will have the bit between his teeth next year but given everyone is starting from scratch, I think that makes Max very dangerous once again, dude is the clear best driver in the world for a reason. I'm hoping McLaren stays out of it and lets Max and Oscar begin the rivalry that should have happened this year.

I really hope Oscar is a bit more bullish next year with McLaren. He went out of his way for the team this year - next years payback.
As for Red Bull, damn they should have arseholed Horner six months earlier.
