I fell asleep before things kicked off so only watched the mini this morning. I'll have to watch the full replay now. Max just doing Max things and Lawson is a ****ing menace.

I think both these points also helped to keep the heat off Tsunoda who looks almost as bad as Lawson in the Red Bull.

Yeah good call. He's a legend but he's lost that edge that made him almost unbeatable. There's no shame in it, it happens to all of us as we get older.

Yeah definitely. But I don't think he is getting on with team/engineer all that well either which certainly isn't helping

So Oscar starts third but more importantly, Lando is seventh. This track looks more even than any this year, so if there can be some separation between Oscar and Lando, that will be a great result.
 
Oscar just needs to avoid any George and Max lap 1 antics most importantly.

He should also have better pace in race, struggled through practice and qualifying really

I'm not 100% sure he will. This track looks very even for most teams. I agree he needs to avoid Max and George doing stupid things. The upside though is that given this looks close between a lot of teams, getting some separation from Lando should be possible.

I meant better pace than he has the sessions prior to the race, not necessarily quicker than the other 2 starting ahead of him. GR is quick in Canada and Max is Max.

McLaren struggled on soft, so they likely will avoid using it in the race.

Well...thanks Lando, much appreciated brain snap that could have ended so badly for the whole team. Really benefitted Oscar who now has a healthy championship lead. This is the knock on Lando, he just doesn't quite have that edge that Max does and that Oscar appears to have also. I think Russell is proving to be a better driver than Lando too, just in a more inferior car.
 
That instance of the 2 Mclaren's dragging down the straight both with DRS was incredible, Lando's head got the better of him yet again though, going for a move that was never on in a million years, and he nearly took out his teammate too. Can't see him ever winning a WDC until he sorts his mentality out. He ruined his whole race for a move that was never on, simply because it was Piastri who he is fighting for the championship with. Just silly.

Wish it was Oscar, but happy to see Merc and GR win for another new winning car and driver this season.

Antonelli also did great. Massive future that kid. I can see him battling with Oscar for a long time to come.
