Not surprised. The combination of juiced up wickets, poor technique and terrible mindsets has done a job on batting in this country
 
Anytime you can turn 2-1 after 3 balls into 3-630 dec you have done something outrageous, let alone in a final.

Hugo Burdon with 340 in the Qld premier cricket final, nearly breaking the competition record (345 Matt Renshaw) whilst Stephan Muller pulled 272* out of his ass as well, making a 629 run partnership the record for Australian Premier Cricket competitions.

In a final no less, after being 2-1 in the first 3 deliveries. I'm gobsmacked.

He is only 24, mostly just opportunity. 6 first class games in. Not unheard of for batsman to not have stamped there authority this early on. He will come along nicely next year. Likely to grab the Khawaja spot up top. He will do nicely and has the potential to push for Australia I believe just takes time. Rome wasn't built in a day.
 
South Australia 3-55 heading into day 2. Seems like St Kilda will avoid rain by a whisker.

McSweeney, Carey, Lehmann and Scott will have to dig deep here.
 
This is the sort of situation that Test selectors remember and watch. Peake needs to get runs, shield the tail and hit the winning runs.
