Look a lot better. In a world cup i'd still play Cummins, in big games he'll fire and you can picture him holding a trophy which is something Marsh will never do as captain.

Even with Cummins in, Marsh is still captain though isn't he?
In my mind though, spots 5-8 are still up for grabs and Cummins is 100% one of those you are right.
One thing out of this series I am certain about though is whatever question is being asked, Matt Short is NOT the answer.
I'd have the contenders for these spots as:
Peake (he was impressive albeit not yet ready, I'd have him as a squad player potentially), Renshaw, McSweeney, J.Davies, L.Scott, J.Edwards, Inglis, Carey, Hearne, Chaudhary, Harvey, Ward, Beardman, David (if he is available for ODI), Hardie, Labushagne (lower down the order might actually work for him), McDermott, Harper, Jewell, Kellaway, Patterson, Philippe, Salzmann (as a real smokey), Shaw, Ward, Weatherald, Weibgen

Geez, forgot about that. Makes no sense imo for World Cups. Cummins has a legendary aura about him and wins everything. I'll go in with no expectations of winning if marsh is captain.

Yeah Aus T20 look like they've re-found some mojo. I know his stats may not completely back it up but I was really impressed with Renshaw this tour. Obviously Connolly continues to just look so good with the bat even if the numbers (in T20 anyway) aren't backing it up. Joel Davies certainly didn't look out of place either, reminds me quite a bit of Hussey with his busyness at the crease. Some green shoots coming through.
So now its over to the Bangladesh test series in the top end in six week's time. I think this might have some decent moments. Bangladesh have a pretty good pace attack now but like England, the question will be around which batting order will be less brittle.
I would love to see some fresh blood in the test side, so I'd be going:
1. Connolly
2. Head
3. McSweeney
4. Green
5. Smith
6. Webster
7. Carey
8. O'Neill
9. Starc
10. Cummins
11. Murphy/Kuhnemann
Yes I know this won't be the side, just what I would do.

Fergus keeps ripping it up in county cricket, averaging 17 for the second season straight and scoring some runs. And Root and Brook keep getting out to the keeper up to the stumps which will help his chances.

Yeah he is absolutely smashing the door down, with both bat and ball. Its harsh on Boland and Hazlewood but Aus has needed to future proof for ages and this series is an opportunity to do it. O'Neill is not the traditional Aussie quick but given how dominant the ball is over bat at the moment, its time to get with the times. A medium-paced wobble seamer who swings it both ways is a valuable commodity, especially one who averages 25-30 with the bat as well, given how brittle the batting order is.
