Being an 80 minute player is so irrelevant. He does more work in the time he's on the field than most 80 minute hookers do in a whole game. Also, he isn't a great attacker, so taking him off for someone with some spark when the opposition forwards are tired is a great game plan. Taking him off for someone like Wallace is extremely stupid, and pointless.

But I'm sure this arguement has been discussed far too many times already on BHQ.

The argument isn't about whether or not McCullough can play 80 minutes, it's about whether the team is more advantaged with a bench hooker or another forward.

Considering we have 4 80 min backrowers playing for 3 roles, and have 3 big minute front rowers (Hannant, McGuire and Kennedy), the bench hooker role makes much more sense. Granville looks to have spark and speed out of dummy half, Segeyaro has shown all year what that can do to tired teams. He would be an absolute asset off the bench.
