Gus Gould vs The Rock

Lol. Years ago Sydney was. Now days, not so much.

But hey. If that's all you've got to hold onto, go for it champ.

On the Mal being most successful coach thing - I think they mean most successful Qld coach.

On Brisbane needing another team - IMO 3 teams would be the most that SEQ could successfully support, but I don't think the 3rd team should be based in Brisbane. The reason Sydney RL has gone downhill has a lot to do with them just adding more teams that can't be successfully sustained by the market (hence dragging the elite competition as a whole down) - we don't want to make the same mistake here.

On Queensland being the home of RL - Gus speaks the truth.

I bet no one would be suggesting QLD is the home of rugby league if QLD hadn't won the last 5 years of Origin.

I would bank on the fact QLD would still sell out Suncorp.

Good point draggx. When was the last time Sydney hosted a dead rubber in QLD's favour? Last time I can find is Game 3, 1988. And the massive crowd of 16910 turned out to watch QLD trounce them to secure the Maroonwash!

But that was at the SFS...maybe the tunnel was closed?

I really think the Recliffe Dolphins need to start pushing towards becoming the 17th team in the NRL IMO.

That could work also, not sure if there is much of a League following up there. Players would no doubt want to be based there though, not a bad place to live compared to Sydney.

 Huge league following. Bigger population from Noosa to Caloundra than Redcliffe City I think too.

You could never play games at Redcliffe either. Transport infrastructure is abysmal (good one KRIS).

I dunno mate, what's the nightlife like around those parts? Is their tunnel infrastructure good?

Well lets see the Sunny coast push for a team I think QLD need another team IMO.. icon_thumbs_u

Lol nice bait. I agree that PT is pretty bad in Redcliffe but the Hornibrook Bridge duplication's going to help the poor connectivity from Brisbane to Redcliffe.

As for population, Redcliffe is a small area that is already pretty much developed. Sunny Coast is going to be HUGE when all the development in Caloundra happens. Plus, there's that train line that's planned from Beerwah to Caloundra, so connectivity wouldn't be to bad later on. So having an NRL team up the Coast would be pretty viable IMO.

Funny how Sydney actually got rated WELL ABOVE any other city in Australia for being the most "livable".

Depends on what poll. A quick Google search of various International polls shows that Melbourne flogs Sydney. Hell, in a couple, Wellington beats the shit hole.

And Wellington fucking sucks dude.

WELL ABOVE indeed (at least in 1 out of 3 international surverys anyway)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World's_mo ... ble_cities

And if it's a poll being voted for by the australian public, then I would expect Sydney to win because

A) It has the highest population out of any Australian city

and

B) Sydney people are pole smokers and think the world revolves around them
