MELTDOWN Heads must roll

I don’t want to pick on one player, but why can we not ever lift for a game?

Any fucking game?

Just about every team in the comp lifts against us and we can NEVER do the same. You see us doing at times during games. Some call obviously goes out, yet we cannot do it for big games.

Why? What is wrong with this team?

Kicking game was ordinary! The only time I was happy about an ordinary single faceted kicking game is when Mitchell Pearce played for the blues! Milford makes too many dumb decisions!

I didn’t watch the game so I’m basing this off the other games this season but it is fucking impossible for Milford to shine when he has a non-descript position. He’s either a fullback or a five eight. seibold trying to play him like both is completely unfair on milf and just shows seibs is out of his depth as an nrl coach

Boyd - plz fk off
McC - plz fk off
Gillett - plz fk off
Bird is just having a holiday with free medical - plz fk off
If the above happens we may have a good chance of winning a GF.
How would Fafita feel about signing up long term with the likes of the above still having a couple of years on their contracts? Would you sign?
IMO it's not seebs fault he does not play for us.... Bennet got his little favourites these huge long term contracts before he left and fked us.

It’s a long way to the top if you want to rock and roll.

Shouldn't your frustration be at why he's kicking it, when the halves would usually be doing that?
Not at all. If he is the chosen kicker from fullback it’s his duty to work on getting it right. There was absolutely no pressure in any of those kicks. It ain’t about how high you can kick but about precision, communication and timing. It’s no fluke that the best kickers in the game get it right more times than not. Lockyer wasn’t flamboyant but he was a great communicator with precision and timing. Maloney and smith are other examples.

You’re right Bennett went from a hard ass coach to fluffy mollycoddler in reality. Broncs need to get back to dropping players if they’re not performing. Young players ain’t going to want to stick around in a stagnant team going nowhere. It’s time to heed the words of Einstein “ The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result”!

Fluffy mollycoddler?

He walked into Souths and retired GI.

And managed to orchestrate getting a salary cap refund

Then replaced him with an alcoholic reserve grader favourite of his.

Don’t you mean multiple centre of the year award winning origin player?

To be a Multiple centre of the year he has to have won it more then that one time he did.

Has he not? My bad I thought he went back to back.

So I’ll amend to - don’t you mean centre of the year award winning origin player

It's funny but for all the talk of the two coaches at the end of last year they pretty much emulated each others performance, at least so far. Bennet has his in the top four, whilst we sneak into the 8.
For all those whinging about how the coach somehow went from brilliant strategist last week to dud this week, consider this: we have one of the youngest sides in the eight (assuming a draw doesnt happen) and with young sides inconsistency goes hand in hand.
It would be nice to think rushing Turpin back in would pay dividends. That he had been ready to go, but obviously that didn't happen.
It would nice to think our outside backs defence, kicking game, and our young forward's drive would be on par with our previous performance but alas not so.
The question is how do we change things in a week. It really comes down to attitude and we were awful and have been for most of the year traveling.
I'm not sure why we are so much worse on the road, but between now and the start of next season someone better find out or we will be looking at disappointment again.
For next week, I'd recall SOS, drop Turpin to the bench in place of saguaro, and try and work hard during the week on outside backs reads. Other than that, or a brilliant coaching strategy (I'm not holding my breath on that one) there isn't a lot that can be done.
This is the time of year when results like last night just shouldn't happen. Perhaps they were complacent but it seems a half decent spine player in the opposition who has a few games in him can tear us apart at will.
They are young and will get better. I hope our coach does too.

So why not complain about the guy who's meant to kick in his traditional role from the halves, but isn't. Shouldn't he be the one working to get it right, so the guy who's not usually kicking, doesn't have to try and kick too?

Why blame him when the guy who is technically meant to be kicking, isn't?

need to face facts...our 2 best players on this team are 19 years old..! they are literally kids...do the storm, Rooster or Souths have any 19 year old props or edge forwards they rely on to win games...

Ditto with any legit halves we have on the books...

so its going to take time...but......that time needs to spent together on the field. No doubt Fifi and Haas will be so much better next season for what they went through, so it makes sense we need to put 2 half in there and injuries aside keep them there all year.

Said it before as have many others, and I'll say it again: For mine, the core issue behind our shitty performances is the clubs decision to treat Macca and Boyd as protected species, where playing them forces Seibold to make shitty selection decisions, like Turpin at 7 and Milford at FB. Basically, this ridiculous decision means we have weakened positions to accomodate Macca and Boyd each of who are shitty players at the top level.

We had an excellent 5/8 : Milford. We have a decent half : SOS. They both should be playing in those positions, even if it means Boyd at FB and Macca overseas.

Equally, the shitty positional decisions as above means an equally shitty game plan: bash, barge and bomb by our FB when the halves and hooker ought to be our main kickers.

Because Macca's service is utter crap: slow as treacle, no vision, no running to create space, because Turpin can't create opportunities or run at the line with supports on either side, because Boyd is so far away from being a decent 5/8 (compare him to Foran's game yesterday - pure class) we have no passing game which is the hallmark of the top sides. They are the top sides because of their passing game.

As for our defence, Turpin can't read attacking structures on the edges and out wide which ***** the entire right side, along with problems with Staggs's inexperience, and fucking Isaako's incompetence.

This club can only go backwards unless there are major changes, the main one being getting rid of Macca and Boyd .. and Isaako until he learns to defend.
