I think this should be included in Broncos talk, AFL won't give it the exposure it deserves.

McKenna rates him as the 3rd best defender at the club behind Brown and Bock which is no slight on his ability at all as they are both quality players.

I know he has his detractors, but I'm firmly of the belief you can put that down to tall poppy syndrome than his performance on field. This is a huge achievement for Hunt and highlights his skill has a footballer and an athlete.

IMO he was the best player to come through our system since Locky.

No, this shouldn't be in Broncos talk. It has absolutely SFA to do with our club or our sport apart from involving a former player most of us stopped caring about the day he turned his back on the club.

+1 and I honestly don't give a f*ck about Hunt and certainly don't care about his AFL career.
Call it what ever you like but that's my take on it.

couldnt give a shit. **** that dick. If he ever plays pro teeball tho, I will probably watch.

Thread should go into the 'Irrelevant Sports in Qld' forum.

Don't bag the OP, bag the soft Hunt who now plays a shite game.

This interested me by the way. The ONLY reason the AFL bought Hunt is exposure. It's a pure marketing/PR exercise, at your club's/your code's expense. Qld'ers can be sure to have Hunt and Folau relentlessly shoved down our throats by the AFL.

Kudos to their marketing department. As a follower of all codes I'm enthralled by the whole scenario. I'd argue that any sports fan would hold, at the very least, a passing interest. I understand this is a forum catering to a special interest group, however the Broncos are not the be all and end all of the sporting landscape.

This is a monumental sporting feat that will likely lead news bulletins for the better part of the week. There's no doubt most of us follow a variety of sports, and as this involves a player we're very familiar with, it should more than passing interest to most.

What if he makes a monumental balls up? You can't tell me everyone who's posted above wouldn't be in here having a lolfest and looking for some footage if that were the case. The fact that half a dozen members in their own right rubbished the thread within a few minutes of each other - quite high traffic for BHQ - would also suggest that many on here have a strong opinion, and therefore interest, albeit a begrudging one, on the matter.

Bias aside, it is a monumental sporting feat that deserves much kudos. Onya' Khunt.

You mean high traffic around the time when Darren Lockyer announced his retirement?

Look I'm not denying that individually for Khunt, if he can cut it in AFL and not make a goose of himself then yeah it's an achievement. Mind you it's not like he's going off to become a champion cricketer or a chess player or something. What needs to be understood though is that I don't care how well he does or not. It doesn't interest me. If he went to another league club or maybe even Union then yeah I would still be interested in his career.

This is exacerbated by the knowledge that the AFL's only reason for poaching him (and Folau) from my club is to try to weaken my code. Therefore, these players are dead to me. That's why your assertion that the AFL would not give Hunt's Aussie Rules progress sufficient coverage was interesting. And wrong.

Meh, good luck to him. Regardless of how he left, he was an excellent player of us during his time here.

Pretty much how I feel.

I bear no grudge against him. He always gave his all on the field for us and has my respect for that.

Maybe we'll see him back at one point? Wouldn't surprise me.

I hope he goes well and lays a good hip and shoulder into the face of Chris Judd.

Not an AFL fan but might watch and see how he goes.

I lost respect from him when he was told that a lot of loyal Broncos Fans would be a little upset and his response was, like I give a ****. Same response he gave to people involved in the night club toilet fiasco. He just didn't care. **** him!

From an AFL Fan mate of mine the Gold Coast Suns is going to be a FAIL.

Don't have the experience to be competitive for 3 years.

In karmichael's favour the other 12 debutants looked just as out of their depth as he did.
