Boyd was great at fullback last year also.. Do you watch any games? I hope Hoffman turns into a player up near the level Boyd is but he still has a long way to go. I don;t even think we have seen the best of Boyd.

Boyd went to be close to his Grandfather Wayne, No doubt he would have stayed if he was at least asked to stay rather than told to take the better offer. Also Kemp had to leave due to not being offered a contract. Shame really if only they both stayed, icon_thumbs_u

He was a nuff bag at the start, he really struggled and a lot of us called for his head. We all thought he'd be another one of those players that simply too stupid to play football.

What? I know a lot of people called for his head, but I don't recall him being considered 'too stupid' to play.

I thought he did very well in his debut season, and progressed steadily from there.

I don't think people really took to him because he's not really one of those eccentric type players with a bit of flair. He just came in and did a solid job on the wing.

I've always been a fan, so maybe I am seeing it differently, but if people seriously thought he was 'too stupid' to play footy back then, they need their heads checked!

There are so many factors to take into account when a younger player comes into the side, and I think Boyd copped a lot of crap on here because there are some people who don't understand those factors. No one in particular, just a general thought.

I was always a big fan of Boyd, since his debut. Was really disappointed to see him let go especially when he had a year on his contract to run and he was a junior who won a premiership with us.

Anyone in the know knew Boyd was a special talent. He was one of the best outside backs to come through here in a while.. I have said this for years.

The fact he was so talented is half the reason he was let go.. He was always earmarked for rep honors and that was something the Broncos couldn't afford with backline stars Hunt, Hodges, Locky, Wallace and Izzy on the way. Salary cap anyone?

The main thing was always the fact he "ran sideways" from what i can remember. Awesome player however and i always rated him.

I always thought he'd be a solid reliable first grader but never thought he'd improve as much as he has.

Each season he's gone up another level and the fact he adapted so easily to playing wing again in Origin shows he's got some class.

Yeah, Boyd will be in that Origin team for a very long time. I reckon he should be the utility player on the bench, but if they're going to select him on the wing he definitely deserves his spot, because he has never let QLD down.
