Jack Bird Discussion

You may be right but for the time being I still want Bird at center... in fact the back row i would love to see in the near future is:

11. TPJ
12. Gillett
13. Arrow

If oates doesn't move to the 2nd row he is gone. Bye bye arrow !

I think Arrow is so underrated on here. At the start of the season, i thought he was as good, if not as spectacular as any of our group of younger forwards. I do think he is a lock, and i do think he will probably need to move on to develop there. Wouldnt surprise me to see him at Melbourne actually, but i guess its more than likely going to somewhere like the Titans.

Not underrated but i think tpj will be our lock. So arrow will move on.

I like arrow and think he's done fine with limited opportunities. The only thing with tpj that worries me is his defence. I've only seen highlights of the last match so that may have changed, but he looked a little lazy getting back in line for defence, previously. We had our share of big runners who wouldn't work hard and they were all eventually moved on. Tpj is only young, so no worries there yet, but I'd want to see improvement before committing long term.

I'm a firm believer that players should play where the team needs them, even if that's not their preferred position.

Right now, and for the foreseeable future, Oates serves us best on the wing.

Thats fine but its his choice if he see's himself as a winger , long term im sure he doesn't. He has only extended for 1 season. I bet being dropped from the qld team , makes him want to make the move sooner rather than later.

Arrow has been going alright in qcup and i can see him producing better form with a fresh start at somewhere like the titans.

Rumour on a couple of RL supporter facebook pages that Bird wants out of his deal with us. Thoughts?

Who originated the post, if it someone with an affiliation to the name Daniel, you can be 100% sure it is fake news.

Lurker and foxsports have been mentioning it a bit.

If he doesnt want to come to us i wouldnt make him. No point having a player who doesnt want to be here. We can at least try to keep Arrow as our lock then.

Until i hear a direct quote from Bird himself, i'm not buying into the'he wants to backflip' rumour

Wouldn't surprise me. He suits the Sydney culture and usually those types would struggle to live in Brisbane. It's also bad news if he can't renege and then isn't committed 100% to the club. So far it sounds as though it was a waste of time pursuing this guy.

If Bird backflips, we go into 2018 with zero big signings. What happened to Bennett's aura lol

I haven't seen any articles about bird and the Broncos since about April. And Zero quotes from bird in regards to him regretting his choice in signing with us.

But according to the Sharks press release he sounds like a real ungrateful tosser.
