Ipswich product Jake Turpin has joined the Brisbane Broncos from the Melbourne Storm.
The young hooker played under-20s with the Storm and Intrust Super Cup with the Sunshine Coast Falcons but is hoping to crack the NRL in Brisbane.
“It is definitely warmer than Melbourne,” he said.
“But it has been tough and everything I expected, I am just really happy to be at a great club like the Broncos.
“It is great being back home – mum and dad are only an hour away.”

Didn't seem like anyone else wanted to post it so I thought I would.
This signing definitely helps sort out our hooker depth.

Seems to me Storm were happy to let him go while they signed up the better ones.

Very few players go on to become stars after leaving that system.

Yea nothing too special but back up hooker like Waddell is needed

Well Brandon Smith was bout to play rep footy before playing NRL. You can't really blame them for letting him go or him wanting to leave.

They have the Smiths there, Turpins had a bad run with injuries limited game time etc.

How was he about to play rep footy?

I know Dicks hard and so this distant relative of the great British bushranger may have inherited similar traits
