Pezet was pretty much the best player on the park for the Storm in wk1 of the finals and has 4 years of development on Black. It’s a ruthless call, but I’m bloody proud of the club for making it

Melbourne playmaker Jonah Pezet will join Parramatta next season on a one year deal before finalising a mega-move to Brisbane to become the Broncos’ long-term replacement for Adam Reynolds.
This masthead revealed that Pezet enacted a get-out clause in his contract after the Storm’s grand final loss, heading to market to explore his options at rival clubs. North Queensland, Parramatta and Canberra were thought to be leading the race for his services but it appears as though the Broncos have come in with a late bid that has trumped them all.
As part of the deal, this masthead understands that Pezet is in talks over a move to the Eels for one season to play alongside Mitchell Moses ahead of a switch to the Broncos for the 2027 season, when Reynolds is expected to have retired.
The plan would be for Pezet to slide into the No.7 jersey and play alongside Ezra Mam in a spine that also features exciting fullback Reece Walsh.
It shapes as a huge coup for coach Michael Maguire less than a fortnight after he led the club to a stunning premiership.

Had previously planned for Dylan Brown to play there and probably have a 6 coming through and gives them time to see how that pans out?

Pezet will come to us with the pedigree of training under Hughes, Munster, Moses - coached by Bellyache and Ryles - rated as one of the best up and comer halves in the NRL.

No doubt Pezet is wanting to join, because he's seeing Walsh, Patty, Payne and Ezra and thinking he wants to be part of that.
But he's also seeing Madge and thinking his game will develop under him... that's a huge positive for us. A coach that can draw top notch young talent, because they believe they can get better under them is the one of the biggest draw cards in recruitment and retention.
Sucks for Coby though... Titans should be straight on the phone with him as he's off contract for 2027.

I'm tempted to go back and watch 2022 U19 origin because Pezet was the 7 in that game and I believe that was when the hype for him really started.
Bonus is that Duffy was the opposing 7 in that game for Qld... concern is that Qld only scored 4 points, but it was in NSW
