Luke O'Donnell said his repeated brushes with the NRL judiciary had been a factor in his decision to quit North Queensland Cowboys for a $1.8 million deal with Huddersfield.
In a parting shot at the code's lawmakers, O'Donnell said his passion for rugby league in Australia was partially eroded by the litany of bans that had made him the most suspended player in NRL history.

Since 2000, the New South Wales firebrand has been suspended 10 times for a total of 29 weeks - the latest being his three-match ban for a dangerous throw on Maroons winger Darius Boyd in Origin II.

The Cowboys were desperate to retain O'Donnell, but their three-year $660,000 deal was dwarfed by the Super League club's bumper four-year contract, worth an estimated $450,000 a season.

While Huddersfield's offer was too good to refuse, O'Donnell admitted he also craved a fresh chapter after a decade of run-ins with the NRL judiciary.

"That definitely adds to me wanting to leave,'' said O'Donnell, who returned from suspension in the Cowboys' loss to Wests Tigers on Monday night.

"I didn't enjoy my footy at times because of all the suspensions and it was really disappointing considering I work so hard and then come game time you feel like you have a target on your head.

"It (his chequered judiciary record) crossed my mind when my options started to come up.

"When England came up, the problems I've had with the judiciary made it easier for me to go.''

Here's a thought Luke. Maybe if you didn't act like such a cucking funt on the field you wouldn't have been suspended so often and wouldn't have that judiciary record and you would've enjoyed your footy more?

What a tool! He deserved more suspensions than he got, he should have got more for his flying elbow which was his first bad one where he got 12 or something when he realistically should have been gone for a season and this last one he only got 3 when he should have got half a season for trying to paralyze Darius Boyd. He is a good player when he has his head switched on but because of rubbish like this I am glad he is going, although I feel sorry for the Cowboys who turned him into a rep player after he was basically unwanted by everyone due to his reputation after that massive suspension. Him leaving is a win for everyone in the game except the Cowboys.

i definitely consider Hodges a dirty player, in the same way that Ennis is a dirty player. backchatting, niggling, not playing in the 'spirit' of the game, hands pushing faces into the ground in tackles, etc all make them dirty players IMO.

and hodges struggles to play 10 games a year max.
