Kangaroos Team Named

1. Slater
2. Boyd
3. Tate
4. Tonga
5. Morris
6. Lockyer
7. Cronk
8. Scott/Shillo
9. Smith
10. Civo
11. Thaiday
12. Myles
13. Gallen

14. Lewis
15. Shillo/Scott
16. Lahrs
17. Bird

Not a bad side.

Dump Gallen and Bird from that 17 and it's pretty close to perfect given the players available.

Who would you replace them with though? The side is loaded with backs, and Watmough has been terrible this year (I don't even know how he made the side at all).

17. Young

Shirley even Gallen and Bird are better than Young? Young seems like the token player from a premiership winning side selected each year, like David Williams, Ryan Hoffman etc before him.

I've always thought Young a very good player who's been unlucky with injury. And he's not a c**t like Gallen and Bird.

Hayne will be in the starting side for sure, so Morris will be unlucky. Young over Gallen or Bird? No way!
Otherwise I very much agree with your side.

Selection wise...
Prince should be there instead of Gidley FFS.
Harrison unlucky, but I can live with it, given Lewis, Bird and Gallen's presence.

Pretty good team all together. I will be at Suncorp cheering them on! icon_thumbs_u

I do not, have not and never will rate Bird and Gallen as players. They are thugs with no brains and bring nothing to a football team in terms of skill or ability.

I agree about the thugs part, but they still stick with head, shoulders, torso, hips and knees above Young, come on! [eusa_doh

little bit pissed that the Dally M Halfback of the year doesn't get a look in. thats crap.

Yep, that's just wrong! [icon_non

Prince = Orford. Good club player, but a whinger and not capable of stepping it up to rep level.

I can't recall Prince ever choking when he played in the maroon jumper.
He's extremely unlucky to have the likes of Locky and Thurston ahead of him, but with JT missing, him not being selected just reeks of favoritism towards Kidley...

As for being a whinger, you don't get much worse than JT in that dept, so that's no excuse either.

How Soward missed out is beyond me. Premiership winner and dominated his opposite number in the game that counted. Carney will be a myth at rep level.

carney was behind a very poor forward pack tho, but i do agree soward shouldve got a look in. i hope qld dont underestimate carney next year as much as u do.

Carney's had one good season. He's also managed to control his drink (credit to him). Let's see how Mad Monday goes...the guy is a loose cannon and a big match failure.

Even Lockyer struggled in big games earlier in his career - refer to his Test debut.
The Dragons did a good job containing him last night, but there's no doubt he wasn't playing at his best. He'll be better for the experience.
