If not required in the halves, Morgan could play center. I thought he had already done so at some stage?
Yeah he has. I think at this stage he would be a good fit there given our lack of specialists in that role, though you could make the argument to swap him and Munster and I could see that working too.

He isn't, but at The same time, we played blokes out of position in the centers this year and they didn't do that well. All he would provide is a solid option who will compete for everything, and sometimes that can just work in Origin. I think NSW got away with having players out of position because they are a better team. When we put their blokes under a bit of pressure they weren't as brilliant as they were in attack.

Gagai always worries me at center, he is pretty ordinary in defence.
Yes. Our centre depth is bad. Hymel Hunt was good last year. Other than that, there isn't much coming through to be excited about. Morgan again and maybe Justin O'Neil or Mbye. Very shallow

Brisbane Broncos young gun Keenan Palasia
suffers ACL injury

Rising Brisbane Broncos rookie Keenan Palasia has undergone surgery after suffering an ACL injury at training. Palasia – who played most of his footy at Wynnum Manly this year before securing a Broncos contract – had surgery on Tuesday and will be back on the field late in 2020 at the earliest, according to an nrl.com report.

It’s a cruel blow for the 22-year-old, who finally appeared to be past his knee injuries as he tried to secure a spot in the Broncos starting side. The mobile forward began the year on a train-and-trial deal with Brisbane but after 17 weeks of training, no contract materialised and he was let go by the Broncos, forcing him to get a job at a bank.

He continued playing for Wynnum-Manly Seagulls in the Intrust Super Cup where he lifted his form and, as a reward, was handed an NRL lifeline to return back to Red Hill on a full-time contract. He finished the 2019 ISC season with a 107.7 running metre average, 514 tackles and two tries, which earned him two NRL appearances in Broncos colours in 2019.

Did it on Tuesday on the second day back at training, Broncos put him straight in for surgery yesterday and now he is back on the Gold Coast resting it up.

That is shocking luck for him.
Pre season has barely started and we’ve already lost someone for 2020 season.
Can we get an exemption for him on our cap and replace him with someone else?

No exemption, probably can put someone else in top 30 though.

I'd figure Morgan was the front runner to replace him. I actually think him and DCE could work quite well together.

Hunt only has a role as a Dummy Half or Utility at this level in my opinion. The ship has sailed on him as a Rep Half.

Improved it for you ;)

The Irony, gone from too many second rowers at the start of 2019 season to too few in 2020

I still reckon Bullemor would be brilliant in the second row. He has the speed and footwork to be really damaging there. If we get really short, we can move the Goates there.

Can move Boyd there if/when he fails on the wing or centre as well.

Why no exemption?

You don't get cap exemption for injuries unless they occur during rep games. He could be replaced in the top 30 but his contract cost would still count in the cap.

although his contract may not have to be included in the cap since the top 30 doesn't need to be finalised until early next year ...

and since he is likely only on base rate, he may be able to be simply not included in the top 30
