In terms of recruitment I have concerns about Scanlon... he was the head of junior development in 2020 when the club decided to go full youth.. and clangers like "Tesi Niu being the next Lockyer".

Nolan appeared to be phoning it in as it was with his only needing to look at Tesi once to sign him and thinking he'd be the next Lockyer.

Now Scanlon is in Nolan's old post... appointed after Ikin was knifed in the back... and straight away we've gone to the youth policy, we're also upgrading kids the second they have even a semi good year suggesting he succumbs to a player manager as soon as they knock on his door.

FOMO is back in force when it comes to the player retention and it now looks completely unbalanced and full of blokes who haven't proved anything over more than a season.

Gordy - it's not Kevvie's fault but due to lack of leadership on the field.
Buzz - shouldn't have signed Reyno next year, could have kept Herbie
Braith - Brisbane players just arrogant
Hoops - huge recruitment and retention blunders to blame

Do we just throw whatever money is required to get Peter O'Sullivan here? Does the salary of the recruiting team fall under the coaching cap??

You’ve added plenty of emotive mayo to these stories.

Scanlan has been here since 2008. He was head of the academy his job was to prepare/recruit the players in the academy. He had nothing to do with the top 30 until 2021.

Pinky recruited Tesi and Nolan watched him for a minute, he was only 15 it didn’t matter at that stage too much it’s a scholarship.

Scanlan got the job from Ikin in 2021. 6 months after Ikin started it was his first appointment to promote Scanlan.
 
A lot of fingers pointed at Reyno rather than KW tonight on 360 😂

I'm not sure what Bizarro world you're in but in the real world. the media (especially the QLD media) are all over what's happened with every man and his dog giving an opinion (and they all differ).

I'm not sure why, but none of them are that half our spine (and the most important half at that, Walsh and Reynolds) have played **** all footy this year

Maybe the players (especially on the edges) are just too stupid to follow instructions or changes in the game plan. We don't seem to recruit the smartest players...
