The Brisbane Broncos have added a Kiwi connection for this year's inaugural NRLW Premiership, with five current or past New Zealand internationals joining the squad today.
Experienced utility Rona Peters and backrower Maitua Feterika, who both played for Queensland in the historic State Of Origin clash at North Sydney Oval on Friday night, join Kimiora Nati, Ngatokotoru Araku and Lilieta Manumau as the latest signings for the Broncos.
Peters, who plays for Burleigh, represented the Kiwi Ferns for over a decade before committing to the Maroons this season, while Feterika moved to Queensland this year to play for Ipswich Brothers after starring for New Zealand at last year's World Cup.
Halfback Nati, prop Manumau, and forward Araku were all part of the Silver Ferns side that made the final of the 2017 World Cup – all three providing plenty of highlights during the New Zealanders run to the final.
The latest signings mean the Broncos now have 17 of their 22-player squad locked down, with the final spots to be determined in the coming weeks.
Earlier this week, five Broncos were named in an Australian Jillaroos merit team, based on players who took part in last Friday night's inaugural Women's State of Origin match.
Ali Brigginshaw, Brittany Breayley, Heather Ballinger, Chelsea Baker and Steph Hancock all earned a spot in the team after outstanding performances for Queensland.
