Lets put this to bed: Madge was the right call over Kevie

Kevie is the Broncos equivalent of an immortal. In a perfect timeline he would be chaining together premierships as Broncos coach.

Unfortunately I don't think he's coaching is that good. One of the best personalities in football handsdown.

But man under McGuire we are playing SMART, FIT football. We've never looked so well coached.

Ballin, Cartwright, Reynolds and Briers were the actual coaches .
Kevvie was motivator , positive thinking coach / mentor , table brusher .

I have watched enough Inside Ball podcast to see that Kevvie is not a tactical genius .

Selwyn came out and said what no one else would say ...

I'm sure I heard that he's playing NSW cup this week.
Meanwhile, Isaiah Iongi, Jonah Pezet, Kitione Kautoga, and Jordan Samrani have all been set with a round 13 return date from their respective injuries.

Pezet recovering from a hamstring strain that took place against the Wests Tigers in round five,

Might be a bit early for a return . this week is 5 weeks since the injury .
Looking at 8 weeks according to Zero tackle .

A young guy getting hammy problems worries me .

And as the man manager type coach he is completely dependent on the abilities of his assistants.

He would also need to be able to recognise when something isn't working on the field and if the assistant has the ability to fix it.

Madge recognised this with Teo and he's been turfed... the defence has been significantly improved since that point.

Duffy came in and did an excellent job filling in for reyno just a couple of games ago. Was super unlucky not to come away with the win. Kicking was excellent pass selection was good. Im backing this guy to be our guy moving forward.

He's definately the future half, surely. The Eels fella sucks.

You're not breaking news.

Most coaches in the NRL are judged on their ability to motivate and manage men. Look at Seibold, people criticise him for being too complex with his tactics and such. If you can't manage men, you will not be successful.

People who play under Wayne Bennett describe him as a father figure to them, they aren't describing him as a father figure because he taught them how to run a block play.

in 24, I believe we had multiple, numerous games where we had the likes of Walsh/Mam/Haas + co. to win SOME games to scrape into the 8 but we lost all of them, games the team should have absolutely been up for (considering the 23 heartbreak).

And some of them we got absolutely flogged...

I said this every time the "injury" excuse came up. We looked like complete trash even when we were full strength in '24. We had plenty of opportunities with a decent squad to win more games than we did.

This year is already arguably shaping up worse injury wise lol. Fingers crossed we get some decent luck going forward.

Nail in the coffin for Kevie for me was in presser -
"Its not if, but when we play finals..."
*misses finals*

Yeah but we also lost that game because of Duffy’s inexperience.

That kick after the field goal, it was a bad kick and not one Reyno would have made, as a result they started their set on their 30 rather in their 10.

He didn’t give it anywhere near enough hang time for the chasers to swarm Drinky the moment he got the ball.

Maybe they still would have got the field goal, but that extra 20 metres is valuable in a tight game like that one.

He’s a future half for sure but I hope people realize they will need to be patient with him because it will take him some time to learn these lessons.
