Live Chat with Anthony Griffin - Full Transcript

What about when hook was asked why we don't go for more 40/20's and his response was "yes Andrew kicked a few at the start of the year MAYBE I SHOULD ENCOURAGE HIM TO LOOK
FOR THIS" are you fucking kidding me, of course you should be

I'm impressed the club has done this, and will do another with Paul White. I didn't expect anything other than the kind of responses they'd give journalists at a press conference, but that's not the point. At least they're putting their hand up, accepting some accountability and are willing to hear out the fans.

Of course they're not going to come out and say "We've signed Players X, Y and Z even though they're on contract, we're going to totally change our game plan, we're going to sack assistant coach X, Y, Z and poach A, B, C from club D, E, F". Or "this week we will be focussing on attacking this particular defender with this play, and will be looking to exploit this weakness"... get real.

Read between the lines and you can see where the Broncos are coming from.

Quite clearly they're looking at at least one fairly big name recruit over the summer. The fact they're so secretive indicates they're probably on contract so it can't be made public (which all points to Ben Barba IMO).

Or DCE.

Griffin did say Barba is under contract but if he came off the market he'd be a player we looked at... Reading between the lines I'd say that's all about the "if"

agree 100% coxy.

Agree 100% with C-Man and Noisey. I would probably even go one step further and say that I am so damn proud of Anthony right now. I think there were several subscribers here who were secretly hoping Hook would fail to deliver the goods last night. He did, however, DO exactly as I was hoping he would and got onto the front foot virtually from the beginning of the address. Sometimes, the best way to defend your position IS to attack, and that strategy seemed to work beautifully/seamlessly for Anthony last night.

Anyways guys, just my 2 cents worth and I hope the doubts/anxieties of a few 'so-called' fans were put to rest after Hook's honest and brave appraisal of where he thinks we are at. It just goes to show that like any good chef, the final success of the recipe is in the prep-work undertaken before the meal - and that certainly paid handsome dividends for Hook, and subsequently, BHQ fans also last night.

Unless you're the Broncos in an NRL game.

On a serious note, I hope the team plays well this week.

Griffins presser where he took on all and sundry will be used as an inspiration to the lads on how to start on the front foot.

thurston will wish he was back in bed, being woken up by asada.

You know the Broncos are just another club when a club like the Newcastle Knights has a Q&A every week where fans can send in emails or tweets which would be answered by Wayne Bennett, CEO, or the players. With 95% of the questions being asked answered.

I'm convinced now more than ever that Griffin has got what it takes. It's been a big week for him and he has proven that he can make the hard decisions and field the hard questions. 10/10.

Well, that makes you very easy to please :)

You know what will convince me (and I dare say most others) that Hook has what it takes to get results on the field?

Actually getting results on the field

How well he answers questions doesn't tell me ****

Anyone reading these forums objectively knows precisely where we are at.

What matters is where we will be, starting tomorrow night.

If the team fiddles while Brisbane burns, then it's time to take the conductor to the Coliseum

All true H-Man, but in the Broncos case at this stage the recipe is making us vomit.
