Is it wrong that I am laughing that Furner is still so butt hurt about losing Milford that he is no longer using QLD as a recruiting ground.
he is also reportedly slashing all development funding to the Raiders other development programs.

BRONCOS star recruit Anthony Milford has become the tipping point in the Canberra Raiders’ decision to abandon Queensland as a recruitment ground.
Queensland, the source of a galaxy of stars over 40 years for Canberra, is now a no-go zone for the Raiders.
Canberra CEO Don Furner said the Raiders’ loss of Milford to Brisbane had dealt a mortal blow to Queensland recruitment plans.
He told respected Logan City recruitment officer Mark Tookey, the man who recruited Milford and Josh Papalii to Canberra, his services were no longer required.
“Something that has frustrated us for years is the lack of reward for doing junior development work and I think Anthony Milford tipped it over for us,” Furner said.
“To provide scholarships from the age of 15 or 16 to 21 and then lose them when they come off contract to clubs buying ready-made first grade players is disappointing.”
“As it stands unless there is incentive for clubs to develop juniors then we are moving away from it.”
Right from the start when Canberra recruited Queensland Residents hooker Jay Hoffman, father of NSW Origin star Ryan, for their inaugural side in 1982, Queensland has been a rich picking ground for the Green Machine.
The star-studded conveyor belt of the code’s elite players from Canberra to Queensland includes Mal Meninga, Gary Belcher Steve and Kevin Walters, Ken Nagas, Steve Jackson and Peter Jackson through to current Kangaroo Papalii.
“It is disappointing when you think about how many people have come through the club from Souths,” Furner said.
Furner confirmed the Raiders were moving away from junior development and reducing funds to all its bases.
“We are moving away from it because it doesn’t stack up financially,” Furner said.
“We are reducing funds everywhere because at the end of the day there is very little reward for that development work you do.
“There is too much uncertainty about investing in a player at the age of 16.”
Tookey said Milford’s defection to Brisbane was the straw that broke the camel’s back.
“It’s going to be a big loss for them (Canberra) but they just had no confidence about getting any more players after what happened with Milford,” he said.
