I never fully had a chance to look at it, only really saw it live during the game.

All I know is he hit him in the ribs hard, was it deliberate? Was it late?

Obviously what's done is done, but if it was late and deliberate, then tackles like this should be rubbed out of the game.

No from memory there was nothing in it, wasn't late at all. Just one of those things, caught him in exactly the wrong spot.

There wasn't much in the tackle as such ..... it was just a good front on hit.

The thing that the experts say did in Locky's ribs was the twisting that came during the tackle ... Locky was hit, then twisted and forced to the ground.

This twisting action is what did the damage they say.

Over the weekend the Telegraph had some story about Luke refusing to apologise for injuring Darren. This refusal to apologise was given an entire story of its own.
O'Donnell should track down whoever asked him to apologise and whoever wrote that story and bust their ribs for being wankers.

Lockyer should just never play at Dairy Farmers again. He has some curse there or something.

I guess I must be the only one who saw what happened even though everyone has seen the tackle. I might be crazy, deluded or just plain senile but O'Donnel did not cause the problem. If you examine the tackle closely you might notice the second player coming in to wrap up the tackle. His left ( I think ) kneecap catches Lockyer right on the ribcage as he flys past and over. I'm certain he was the one who clipped the rib when the body was twisted and exposed. It was unintentional and I'd say a bit side-on to the rib itself so it hit and pushed simultaneously.

But hey, I'm usually wrong around here [icon_razz1

Mate pretty sure that player you're speaking about was O'Donnell...

Gee...when I write...the second player coming in, over the top,,, you conclude I somehow forgot about the guy( O'Donell) who actually has his arms around Lockyer !!!!

No, I did not mix anyone up. If you get the chance, watch the tackle again.

If you do then concentrate on Lockyers ribcage for the duration of the tackle. Left ( Lockyers )handside around the second lowest rib.

After the initial contact with O'Donell and while Lockyer is still just above the ground.A quarter second before he hits the deck and while he is twisted and his ribcage is under load and fully stretched the second players knee clips the rib with a glancing blow.

Of course it might have been Danny Nutley or Arthur Beetson..I get so confused these days [icon_lol1.

Yes, sorry mate, just watched the footage again, it was Watts over the top. My bad [eusa_doh

O'Donnell is still a grade a cnt though.

The footage that they keep showing in relation to the ribs is where Watts has come in from the side and caught him with an accidental knee. Just one of those things that happens.

But I swear there was a tackle before then when Lockyer has gone to the line, O'Donnell and another Cowboys player has him and Luke has knee'd him while making the tackle. It was about 50 minutes into the second half.
