You would hope Ezra has been upfront with the club about what happened, even before any results come back. You would also hope that if it is as bad as many think it is (unlicenced, drugged up crash which could have killed someone) the club would have the balls to terminate his contract (he's overpaid and seemingly overrated anyway).

Maybe it's not so bad, and it's all a big misunderstanding. But if it is bad, I would be disappointed with us (and our new coach) if we kept him. Can't complian about our attitude on the field, if we're going to allow an attitude like this off the field continue to happen.
I notice the dialogue has noticeably darkened this week, with commentators expecting a lengthy suspension, as long as an entire season. It's over reaction, but fans want to see his head on a stick paraded through the mall.

Different situation but the mother down in Melbourne this week that drove into 4 kids and killing one of them has been released without charge. It is unknown at this stage whether she held a full licence.

The general public generally seem not as outraged due to the mother allegedly having a medical episode whilst performing a U-turn from a stationary position.

We simply have to rip his contract up IMO. We're now locked in for 5 years with $900k for a guy that was over paid to begin with and now he is damaged goods. 2025 is a complete write off for him and who knows what the future holds. Will he ever be able to live up to that contract? Will the mental demons keep popping up making him a high maintenance player for the club?

Keeping him on a renegotiated deal if much easier to swallow IMO. Our salary cap is a mess and now we are in a bigger hole because of this drama.

Don't understand why JAC doesn't just own it, coke is brushed under the rug these days as a few rounds suspension and everyone gets over it.

The cops got called away to a home invasion in the middle of the road side drug test .
I think he thought he could weasel his way out on a technicality . To do that he can`t admit he was guilty .
He rolled the dice and lost .

I mean that makes more sense, especially as no one knows what the medical episode was. For example, crashing while having a heart attack, is more understandable than crashing while on drugs or alcohol. I'm sure the public would be angrier if it came out she was off her face and unlicenced.

But yes, when you're well known it does grab the headlines more.

Do you honestly think that because he failed a roadside drug test that is known to be unreliable .
That those detected drugs caused him to swerve onto the wrong side of the road ?

Yes he may or may not have had traces of drugs in his system . What was the level of intoxication and or impairment ?
Weed can be detected in those tests days after administering .Long after the effects have worn off . Cocaine effects last about 20 - 30 minutes . Then nothing but an itchy nose and less money in your pocket .
So as you can understand a positive test doesn`t necessarily mean he was so fcked up it caused him to lose control of his car and turn into oncoming traffic .

Don't you think if someone wanted to respond to this, they would have done it the first time you said it? What makes the 26th time different?

A bloke drives onto the wrong side of the road and then comes back with a positive test? It’s hardly a coincidence. You’d have to be a fool to think otherwise, or a spokesperson for legalising substances that are currently not legal.

I guess it makes sense, if you live your life getting on this shit, you would probably be a bit impaired generally speaking.

Is he still at the rehab facility?

Yea I get the point - who really knows how impacted he was. Either way, users of illegal drugs are generally still given less sympathy by the public (and fair enough). There's also the claim of him being unlicenced.
