THE BOSS Maguire Stomped The Naysayers! But...8 Months Later, Here We Are.

I'm on the fence with Madge and am not prepared to judge him until he completely rebuilds the squad, unless this happens we will go round in circles by sacking the coach and getting the same results.
Serious question, is there a coach out there that could win a comp with these pansies?

A flawed coach inherited a team with a lot of problems.

The club had an outlier year in 2023. Started to return to baseline in 2024 and then fell to a 3 wins from 15 games end to the season.

Madge was the wrong type of coach for a already broken team

I'd say 2024 was the outlier. Otherwise we were getting better every year from a wooden spoon team.

2025 seems like a return to 2020 again. This team had the talent - we just needed someone to take us to the next step. Madge has taken us backwards and it's looking like it's going to take years to build it back up again.

We seem to have the life sucked out of us. Selwyn and Ezra looked like they didn't want to be there.

The players seem to be incapable of not making errors so in this case, I’d still at least like for us to be exciting to watch when it does come off.

Right now we look sad, clueless and absolutely boring.

It's like they literally took the prevailing advice to keep it simple and the rest would look after itself. They sure kept it simple.

This. The whole team looks miserable. We all know how much better these guys can play (we've seen it), they just seem down.

We are a chore to watch. I saw a team out there tonight having fun, playing a bit of modern style league and having fun doing so. Then there was this other Temu version of a Broncos team wearing white.

Get rid of everyone not named Haas.
Shit thing is even he had some bad moments tonight. One or 2 errors and got ran through by a back.

Difference is, he had played origin couple days earlier, and was doing extras to make up for his errors. He got back to stop a grubber, got back to intercept that other grubber and made a break with nobody supporting.

He is the only bloke we have currently who shows these efforts, actually trying to make up for his errors.

That break he made with no support made me angry and I don’t often get angry when watching the Broncos anymore because I’m used to how bad we’ve become.

Here’s a bloke who has every reason to be stuffed trying his absolute all to get us into the game and not one freaking loser in the side could be bothered to be there to support. And yes this team is proving to be a literal bunch of losers, they are 1 from the last seven and that one was during stupid refereeing round.

A very sad night indeed. How the **** has our once great club managed to fall to such a tragically low standard?

Maguire has to now admit he got it totally wrong and move Hetherington out of the lock position and tell him he’s had his chance and failed miserably.

I’ve gone beyond the point of caring now. I’m now able to laugh at the sheer folly of it all. Arthars was on a hiding to nothing being moved into FB while on origin duty with no chance of any practice with the team. I commented on this mindless stupidity through the week. I hate to be vindicated coz it means my team is now becoming the laughing stock of the NRL.

I did learn a lot about the team tonight though .

We've gone through 3 different coaches. Everyone reckons the players are at fault. Is there a chance Madge has his "Wayne sacking Wally moment"? Or is that a totally different scenario?

I still think he was the wrong coach to employ. I know people blame the players, and to some extent they are right, but its not a happy environment to work in right now. Look at Madges last 3 or 4 years in club land and every club has had the same issues. Unhappy players and media reports that his methods arent liked, or even working. Origin and NZ have masked how poor he had become in clubland. The bloke just hasnt evolved as a coach to suit the game now.

When you add to that the group was already unhappy with some of the things the management had done at the end of last year, it was always going to be a recipe for disaster.
