This was my favourite quote from Slothfield in this article

“I will never apologise and will never ring Michael Maguire again because I don’t care what he thinks. I’m not going to sit back and allow someone like him to rip me apart.”
 
I’d love for Maguire to say, ‘Look he can think what he wants. It isn’t my job to win friends, it’s to win games of football.

On the other hand, it is his job to win friends and given he himself said he doesn’t have any at the biggest club in the land, I’d say he might not be very good at his part of the deal.’

When 95% of the media on the sport/team you love comes out of one giant asshole of a city, it's either take some of that in or take nothing in and sit around for 7 days between games.

I think the thing that will cost him is it's the Broncos- it's similar to Redcliffe hasn't won the coach of the year in Cup since 2007 yet have made seven grand finals in that time.

People just expect Broncos and Redcliffe to do well- you don't get awards for it. Bennet has won it twice, 00 and 15.
